Rushden is a market town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in North Northamptonshire, England, around east of Northampton. The parish is on the border with Bedfordshire, north of Bedford. The parish of Rushden covers an area of some . The population of Rushden is 29,272 (Census 2011), making it the fifth largest town in the county. The larger urban area, which includes the adjoining town of Higham Ferrers, has an estimated population of 36,410. The estimated population of Rushden in 2020 was 32,148. Location Rushden lies on the A6 road (Great Britain), A6 midway between Bedford, Bedfordshire, Bedford and Kettering. The southern limits of the town border on the county of Bedfordshire, and to its north lies the River Nene (locally pronounced Nen) which flows into The Wash. Rushden Railway Station
Rushden railway station is a railway station that once served the town of Rushden in Northamptonshire, England. It is now a heritage station at the end of a short running line. History The station was an intermediate stop on the Higham Ferrers branch line, originally established by the Midland Railway. It closed completely in 1969, British Rail having withdrawn passenger services ten years previously. In 1996 the station was bought by the Rushden Historical Transport Society. Since then the station has been restored, and forms the headquarters of the society and includes the Rushden Station Railway Museum. The heritage railway now operates as the Rushden, Higham & Wellingborough Railway. Max Rushden
Max Paul Rushden (born 18 April 1979) is an English radio and television presenter and the current host of ''The Guardian''s ''Football Weekly'' podcast. Rushden's first presenting role was BBC London 94.9's breakfast show from December 2006 to March 2008. He turned down an offer to become a ''Blue Peter'' presenter to instead present the Saturday morning Sky Sports show ''Soccer AM'' alongside Helen Chamberlain from August 2008 until 2015. He has a weekly Sunday show with Barry Glendenning on Talksport and has occasionally worked for BBC Radio 5 Live. He was a regular substitute presenter for James Richardson on ''Football Weekly'', before becoming its main host in 2017 after Richardson quit to launch rival ''The Totally Football Show''.
