Rush Green is a suburban area in Romford in East London, England. It straddles the boundary of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and the London Borough of Havering, and is located east-northeast of Charing Cross. Government Rush Green is divided between the Eastbrook Ward in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and the Brooklands Ward in the London Borough of Havering, electing three councillors to Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council and three councillors to Havering London Borough Council. It is also divided between the Dagenham and Rainham and Romford parliamentary constituencies, each electing a member of parliament. Geography The central part of the district is at the crossroads of Rush Green Road and Dagenham Road (in Havering), approximately half a mile south of Romford town centre. Chadwell Heath
Chadwell Heath is an area in east London, England. It is situated on the boundary of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and the London Borough of Redbridge, around west of Romford and east of Ilford, and north-east of Charing Cross. The name was first used in the 17th century for a settlement in the parish of Dagenham in Essex, which later absorbed the neighbouring hamlet of Chadwell Street in the parish of Barking (later Ilford). Chadwell Heath railway station, on the Great Eastern Main Line, opened in 1864, connecting the area to Central London. After the First World War, the area developed as a residential suburb and formed the northern limit of the Becontree estate, causing an increase in population density. Elm Park is a suburban planned community in East London within the London Borough of Havering. Located east-northeast of Charing Cross, it is identified as a district centre in the London Plan with several streets of shops and a priority for regeneration. Dagenham () is a town in East London, England, within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Dagenham is centred east of Charing Cross. It was historically a rural parish in the Becontree Hundred of Essex, stretching from Hainault Forest in the north to the River Thames in the south. Rush Green Hospital
Rush Green Hospital was a hospital located at Rush Green in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in London from 1900 to 1995. History The hospital was opened as the Romford Isolation Hospital by Romford Rural District Council in co-operation with Romford Urban District Council (the hospital was located in Romford Rural District) in April 1901. The rural district was abolished and the hospital became part of the Dagenham district in April 1926. The facility was renamed Rush Green Hospital in 1939 and it joined the National Health Service in 1948.
