Rush Creek is a rural locality in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Rush Creek had a population of 157 people. Geography The North Pine River at the western end of Lake Samsonvale marks the southern boundary of Rush Creek. Forbes Creek is a neighbourhood in the south-east of the locality (). Brisbane–Woodford Road (Dayboro Road) runs through from east to west. History Hay Cottage was originally built about 1870 by Ernest Goertz. The cottage later passed to Charles Hay who raised a family there. The construction of the North Pine Dam in the early 1970s required the resumption of the cottage's land. In 1989 the cottage was relocated to 27 William Street in Dayboro and is occupied by Hay Cottage Arts and Crafts Association Inc. Forbes Creek Provisional School opened on 20 August 1880. Rush Creek is a stream in eastern Marin County, California, United States. It originates on the north edge of Novato, California and flows northeasterly through wetlands into Black John Slough and then the Petaluma River. The name is associated with Peter Rush who bought land near Novato in 1862. Ecology The creek flows through coastal saltwater marsh and coastal brackish-water marsh habitats. The wetlands provide suitable habitat for San Pablo song sparrow, California black rail, saltmarsh common yellowthroat, California brackishwater snail, and California clapper rail. Conservation In 1999, the Rush Creek/Cemetery Marsh Enhancement Project was completed by the Marin Audubon Society. This project involved the excavation of channels to improve circulation and replacement of tide gates in the Rush Creek marsh and Cemetery Marsh. Rush Creek is a stream in Fillmore and Winona counties, in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is a tributary of the Root River, which it joins in Rushford, Minnesota. History The creek was named for the rush plants lining its banks. Rush Creek suffered severe flooding in the Southeast Minnesota floods of August 1820, 2007. According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, fish species present in Rush Creek include: brown trout, brook trout, rainbow trout, white sucker, American brook lamprey, creek chub, northern hog sucker, golden redhorse, shorthead redhorse, brook stickleback, green sunfish, sculpin, longnose dace, blacknose dace, quillback and Johnny darter. The Win-Cres Chapter of Trout Unlimited began a stream restoration project on Rush Creek in 2018. There was damage to the restoration project in Spring 2019 flooding. Village Creek is a tributary creek of the West Fork of the Trinity river in Tarrant and Johnson county, Texas, USA. It is the main inflow of Lake Arlington. It is approximately long. Its watershed is approximately . History On 24 May 1841, the "Battle of Village Creek" occurred, in which a group of seventy men (including some Texas Rangers) under the command of Edward H. Tarrant, attacked three American Indian encampments along the creek. A monument to this battle was erected at the nearby town of Handley in 1936. The work ''Springs of Texas'' notes that Tarrant attacked the communities while the Indian men were out hunting buffalo, and massacred women and children there.
