Rush, Endacott And Rush
Rush, Endacott and Rush was an American architectural firm known for its designs in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from 1912 to 1929. Principals A. William Rush, a civil engineer, and his son, Edwin Arthur Rush, were partners in the predecessor firm A.W. Rush and Son in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and later in Chicago, Illinois, between 1891 and 1912. The firm moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and formed Rush, Endacott and Rush with Asbury Endacott. A.W. Rush retired in 1913 and died in 1923, but his name remained on the firm until 1929. Noted architect Bruce Goff was apprenticed at the age of 12 to Rush, Endacott and Rush, and briefly became a partner in the successor firm Rush, Endacott and Goff in Tulsa from 1929 to 1930. A.W. Bruce Goff
Bruce Alonzo Goff (June 8, 1904 – August 4, 1982) was an American architect, distinguished by his organic, eclectic, and often flamboyant designs for houses and other buildings in Oklahoma and elsewhere. A 1951 ''Life Magazine'' article stated that Goff was "one of the few US architects whom Frank Lloyd Wright considers creative...scorns houses that are ‘boxes with little holes." Early years Bruce Goff's father, Corliss, was the youngest of seven children born to a builder in Cameron, Missouri, who learned to be a watch repairman at an early age, and moved to Wakeeney, Kansas, where he opened his own watch repair business. Johnson County Courthouse (Iowa City, Iowa)
The Johnson County Courthouse in Iowa City, Iowa, the county seat of Johnson County, United States, was completed in 1901; it was the second courthouse to stand at this location. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. History Johnson County's first courthouse was a two-story frame structure built in 1838 in Napoleon. After the county seat was moved to Iowa City a , two-story brick courthouse, was completed in 1842. A jail was built at the same time. Boston Avenue Methodist Church
The Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, located in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, and completed in 1929, is considered to be one of the finest examples of ecclesiastical Art Deco architecture in the United States, and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built by a congregation of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1999. and It has 15 floors. Tulsa Club Building
The Tulsa Club Building is an 11-story structure that stands on the northwest corner of Cincinnati Avenue and East Fifth Street, inside the Oil Capital Historic District of Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. Designed by Bruce Goff and constructed in 1927 by the architectural firm Rush, Endacott and Rush, it was a joint venture of the Tulsa Club and the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce. After about 30 years, the Chamber of Commerce vacated its portion of the building, which the Tulsa Club took over. However, the domestic petroleum production industry began to shrink suddenly and sharply, cutting into the club's clientele and revenue. It vacated the entire building and went out of business in 1994. For nearly 20 years the building remained vacant, occupied mainly by squatters and vandals. Atlas Life Building
The Atlas Life Building is a historic twelve-story building in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. Designed by the firm Rush, Endacott and Rush, the building was completed in 1922. It is located at 415 S. Boston Avenue, sandwiched between the Philtower and Mid-Continent Tower. On May 19, 2009, it was added to the United States, U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Originally an office building, it was converted to hotel use in 2010. Atlas Life Insurance Company Atlas Life Insurance Company was founded in Tulsa in 1918. Rushville is a city in Rushville Township, Rush County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 6,341 at the 2010 census. The city is the county seat of Rush County. Rush County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at Rushville, Rush County, Indiana. It was designed by the architectural firm of A. W. Rush & Sons of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was built in 1896, and is a -story, steel frame building sheathed in rock faced stone in the Richardsonian Romanesque style.
