The Rural Municipality of Milton No. 292 (Canada 2016 Census, 2016 population: ) is a List of rural municipalities in Saskatchewan, rural municipality (RM) in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Saskatchewan within Division No. 13, Saskatchewan, Census Division No. 13 and SARM Division No. 6, Division No. 6. Located in the west-central portion of the province, it is adjacent to the Alberta boundary. History The RM of Milton No. 292 incorporated as a rural municipality on December 11, 1911. It was previously established as the Wirral Improvement District in 1905. A rural municipality (RM) is a type of incorporated municipality in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. A rural municipality is created by the Minister of Municipal Relations by ministerial order via section 49 of ''The Municipalities Act''. Saskatchewan has 296 rural municipalities, which are located in the central and southern portions of the province. They had a cumulative population of and an average population of in the 2016 Census of Population. Saskatchewan's largest and smallest rural municipalities are the RM of Corman Park No. 344 and the RM of Glen McPherson No. 46 with populations of 8,568 and 72 respectively. Alsask, Saskatchewan
Alsask is a special service area in the Rural Municipality of Milton No. 292, in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Alsask is located west of the city of Kindersley. Highway 44 runs to the east of Alsask, and Highway 7 lies a few kilometres to the north. The community had a population of 113 in the 2021 Canadian census (a 1.8% increase from 111 in the 2016 Canadian census). The community's name combines the names of ''Al''berta and ''Sask''atchewan, although it is a misconception that it straddles the border between the two provinces. It lies approximately east of the Alberta border and while the community lies completely within Saskatchewan, the local graveyard is actually in Alberta. The 2016 Canadian census was an enumeration of Canadian residents, which counted a population of 35,151,728, a change from its 2011 population of 33,476,688. The census, conducted by Statistics Canada, was Canada's seventh quinquennial census. The official census day was May 10, 2016. Census web access codes began arriving in the mail on May 2, 2016.
