Runaway Train (Oleander EP)
The ''Runaway Train EP'' is the second EP from American post-grunge band Oleander. It was released on November 19, 2002 and marks the band's move from Universal Records to Sanctuary. Overview The EP's title track was originally featured in the Showtime film '' Bang Bang You're Dead'', which premiered October 13, 2002. A music video was then shot and incorporated footage from the film. The cover photo of the ''Runaway Train EP'' depicts a screen shot from the video which was included on the record. Originally, the band's next studio album, '' Joyride'', was expected for a November 2002 release but took longer than planned. Thus, extra material was compiled for the ''Runaway Train EP'' which was sold at Oleander concerts that same month and was intended for a store release as well. The tracks "Runaway Train" and "Rainy Day" would later appear on ''Joyride'' in 2003. Oleander (band)
Oleander is a post-grunge band from Sacramento, California, USA. Its name is derived from the poisonous flowering shrub oleander, which line the highways of Northern California. In their nine years of activity, the band released four studio albums under various record labels. Their most successful effort, 1999's ''February Son'', includes the hit single "Why I'm Here." Oleander went on official hiatus after the release and promotion of their third album, '' Joyride'', in 2004. The band took some time off, but reunited in 2008, and began work on their album ''Something Beautiful'', which was released on April 16, 2013. ''Nerium oleander'' ( ), most commonly known as oleander or nerium, is a shrub or small tree cultivated worldwide in temperate and subtropical areas as an ornamental and landscaping plant. Scott Devours (born December 15, 1966) is an American drummer and songwriter based in New York City. Devours has played drums for the post-grunge bands Oleander, IMA Robot and Long Beach bands like Speaker and Shave, worked on over thirty albums and toured with a number of well-known artists, including The Who. Biography Scott Devours was born December 15, 1966, the son of Hurshel and Joyce Devours and a 3rd great nephew of opera singer Adelina Patti. ''Bang Bang You're Dead'' is a 2002 American drama thriller film directed by Guy Ferland and written by William Mastrosimone. It stars Tom Cavanagh, Ben Foster, Randy Harrison, and Janel Moloney.
