''Run the Road'' is a series of compilations released on 679 Recordings and Vice. It is intended to showcase a wide variety of grime artists from the genre such as Dizzee Rascal, Wiley and Kano. 679 Recordings
679 Artists (formally known as Sixsevenine and 679 Recordings) was a Warner Music Group-owned record label based in London, England. It was started by Nick Worthington who after leaving XL Recordings in 2001, started the company with Warner Music Group, and holds the position of MD and A&R Director. It is named "679" as this was the address of the Pure Groove record shop on Holloway Road. The label's first release was The Streets' debut, ''Original Pirate Material'' (which was named ''The Observer''s best album of the 2000s). The label progressed with subsequent albums from artists including Death From Above 1979, The Futureheads, Kano, King Creosote and Mystery Jets, and also included the million-selling second Streets album, ''A Grand Don't Come for Free''. The Streets
The Streets are an English music project led by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Skinner. Darren Kandler, better known by his Stage name Klashnekoff ''(pronounced K-Lash-Nek-Off)'' or Ricochet Klashnekoff, is a Jamaican-English Rapper from Stoke Newington, London. Klashnekoff was born in Hornsey, but then moved to Hackney in London where he began his career in rapping. He was the founding member of the Terra Firma Crew. Carl Dobson (born 31 January 1983), better known by his stage name Crazy Titch, is a British grime MC who is now serving a life sentence for murder. Crazy Titch was a successful and well-known grime MC during his active period. Early life and education Dobson was born in Plaistow, East London. As a teenager Dobson spent five years in Feltham Young Offenders' Institute for robbery, handling stolen goods, theft, burglary and criminal damage; On his release in 2003 Dobson turned his attention to grime music. Derek Andrew Safo (born 5 September 1982), better known by his stage name Sway or Sway DaSafo, is a British rapper of Ghanaian descent. Skinnyman
Skinnyman (born Alexander Graham Holland, 9 November 1974) is a British rapper who was born in Chapeltown Leeds, Yorkshire and moved to Finsbury Park, London at a young age. He grew up on the Six Acres Estate next to Andover Estate. Among his friends was fellow Leeds-born, London-raised Cornwall DJ Pat Mckay. He formed the Mud Family with Mongo and Chester P, a group which released a number of EPs. These included such records as "Itchy Town" and "Lash Suttin", a reworking of Redman's "Smash Something". DaVinChe, is a British record producer and songwriter from South London, England who is best known as one of the pioneer producers in the UK grime scene. Kaine Brett Robinson (born 21 May 1985), better known as Kano, is a British rapper, songwriter and actor from East Ham, London. Louise Amanda Harman (born 19 December 1985), better known by the stage name Lady Sovereign, is a British rapper, best known for the songs " 9 to 5" and "Love Me or Hate Me".
