Rumi Chunara is a computer scientist who is an associate professor of biostatistics at the New York University School of Global Public Health. She develops computational and statistical approaches to acquire, integrate and make use of data improve population-level public health. Early life and education Chunara was an undergraduate student at the California Institute of Technology, where she studied electrical engineering. She moved to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for graduate studies, where she joined the Department of Electrical Engineering.
