( Old Spelling: Roehana Koeddoes; December 20, 1884 – August 17, 1972) was the first female Indonesian journalist, founder of the newspaper '' Soenting Melajoe'', and an activist for women's emancipation. Biography Early life She was born Siti Ruhana on December 20, 1884, in the village () of Koto Gadang, Agam Regency, in the hinterland of West Sumatra, Dutch East Indies. Her father Mohammad Rasjad Maharaja Soetan was the chief public prosecutor of Jambi Residency and later of Medan. Ruhana was the half-sister of Sutan Sjahrir, and a cousin of Agus Salim, both important intellectuals and politicians in the Indonesian independence movement. Agam Regency
Agam Regency ( id, Kabupaten Agam) is a regency of West Sumatra, Indonesia. It has an area of 2,264.89 km2 and had a population of 454,853 at the 2010 census and 529,138 at the 2020 census.Badan Pusat Statistik, Jakarta, 2021. The regency seat is the town of Lubuk Basung. Bukittinggi city is surrounded by this regency but is not administratively included in it. Gelora Haji Agus Salim Sports Complex
Gelora Haji Agus Salim Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is currently used mostly for Football matches and is the home stadium of Semen Padang and PSP Padang. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000. The stadium is also known as a venue for rugby union matches and athletics. History The stadium was named after Agus Salim, a Muslim intellectual and national hero of Minangkabau from the area where the stadium is located. The 2009 Sumatra earthquakes heavily damaged the stadium. The stands were destroyed and there was damage to facilities, including lighting. The dressing rooms were also damaged, and the resultant condition of the field rendered the stadium unfit for use. Repairs were completed in 2012. Google Doodle
A Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google's homepages intended to commemorate holidays, events, achievements, and notable historical figures. The first Google Doodle honored the 1998 edition of the long-running annual Burning Man event in Black Rock City, Nevada, and was designed by co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin to notify users of their absence in case the servers crashed. Early Marketing employee Susan Wojcicki then spearheaded subsequent Doodles, including an alien landing on Google and additional custom logos for major holidays.
