Ruger (singer)
Michael Adebayo Olayinka (born 23 September 1999), popularly known as Ruger, is a Nigerian Afrobeat singer and songwriter. Ruger came into lime-light 2021 after he signed a record deal with D'Prince "Jonzing world record" with a publishing and distribution deal with Columbia Records, and Sony Music Entertainment, U.K division. On 4 March 2021, he released his debut EP ''Pandemic''. "Bounce", became a major hit song from ''Pandemic'' EP, and debuted at number 39 on the Top 50 chart Nigeria. In the same year, it was enlisted at number 20, on the TurnTable End of the Year chart and number 2 on the Apple Music top Afrobeats songs. On 26 November 2021, he released his second EP, titled ''The Second Wave'', with "Dior" as the lead single. The Headies 2022 was the 15th edition of Nigerian music awards The Headies. It held at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, United States on 4 September 2022. All Africa Music Awards 2021
The 2021 All Africa Music Awards (also known as AFRIMA), were held on November 21, at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria. This marked the fifth time in eight years that the venue is hosting the show. The show was hosted by South African actress Pearl Thusi, and British-Congolese comedian Eddie Kadi. The ceremony, under the theme ‘Still We Sing’, was broadcast on DSTV channel 198, GOTV 98, HIPTV, TVC, PlusTV Africa, AIT and AfroMusicPop among others. AFRIMA has taken place each year since 2014, except in 2020, owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
