Rugby India, also known as Indian Rugby Football Union is the governing body for sport of rugby union in India. It is situated at Marine lines, Mumbai in Maharashtra. It was founded in 1968 and became affiliated to the International Rugby Board now World Rugby in 1999. Rugby India administers all India national teams such as India men's national rugby union team, India women's national rugby union team teams, India women's national rugby sevens team and India national rugby seven team. It also manage under-20 national teams for both sexes. History Rugby Union in India dates back to a scratch match or two played in Kolkata and Madras during the visit of MS Galatea in 1871. Asia Rugby, formerly the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU), is the governing body of rugby union in Asia under the authority of World Rugby. Naas Botha
Hendrik Egnatius 'Naas' Botha (born 27 February 1958) is a South African former rugby union player, who played for Northern Transvaal and South Africa (the Springboks). He was voted ''Rugby Player of the Year'' in 1979, 1981, 1985 and 1987. Botha mostly played in the fly-half position and is now a rugby commentator for the South African M-Net and Supersport TV channels. He is also the Head coach of the Men's and women's national rugby union team of India. All India & South Asia Rugby Tournament
The All India & South Asia Rugby Tournament is an amateur league competition for rugby union football clubs in India. The competition has been played since 1924. In 2017 ten teams took part in the men's edition, with Delhi Hurricanes RFC, Delhi Hurricanes securing the championship. The 2016 tournament also saw the first women's XVs rugby competition, with six teams participating, and the championship going to the team from the Odisha Rugby Football Association.
