Rue Des Pignons
''Rue des Pignons'' was a Canadian French-language TV series which ran from 1966 to 1977. Radio-Canada has reportedly lost most of the episodes of the series, only managing to trace about 35 of the 414 episodes from 1966 to 1977. The program's theme song was composed and recorded by Pierre Brabant who also played much of the show's background music. Plot The intrigue develops around a typical family of a working district of Montreal, with stories concerning knowledge and friends of the members of the family and other residents of the surroundings of the streets of Pignons. Pierre Brabant
Pierre Brabant (26 August 1925 – 28 August 2014) was a Canadian composer and pianist. He appeared in concerts and recitals throughout Canada and performed numerous times on Canadian television and radio. He wrote music for a number of programs for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and worked as a composer, arranger, and music director for numerous recordings by a variety of Canadian artists. Starting in 1987 he performed regularly in concerts and recitals as the accompanist for opera singer Joseph Rouleau. Life and career Brabant was born in Montreal, Quebec, he began his studies in piano as a child and gave his first public recital while a teenager. Juliette Béliveau (October 28, 1889 – August 26, 1975) was a French Canadian actress and singer, who starred in various radio and television comedies and dramas, as well as in theatre productions. She was also the heroine of a weekly comic strip drawn by Dick Lucas, published by Radiomonde from 1950 through 1954. Jean Hotte-Duceppe (1923–1990) was a stage and television actor from Montreal, Quebec. Born on 25 October 1923 to a family of local shopkeepers in working-class Montreal, Jean Duceppe came to the theatre with no formal training and was completely self-taught. He was popular from the late 1940s until his death at the age of 67 on 7 December 1990. His career debut was at the Arcade, performing seven days a week. Between 1941 and 1947, he performed in 34 different plays. He appeared in more than 160 plays on radio, on television, and in films.
