Rudy Mills
Rudolph "Rudy" Methaian Mills is a reggae musician known for his releases during the rock steady era in the 1960s. He was discovered by producer Derrick Harriott who released his hit song "A Long Story". Versions of the song were later used by other artists including Bongo Herman & Bingy Bunny sampling it in an instrumental rendition. Mills released singles with Island Records, and his music has been featured on over 20 compilations, including releases from Rhino Entertainment, Trojan Records, Jamaican Gold, Heartbeat, BMG and Universal Music TV. Mills was in a band called Progressions. Mills' song "John Jones" was a hit among the skinhead subculture in England. It was released on Trojan Records / B & C Records label Big Shot and was one of their hits. Mills song "A Place Called Happiness" was the B side. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora. A 1968 single by Toots and the Maytals, " Do the Reggay" was the first popular song to use the word "reggae", effectively naming the genre and introducing it to a global audience. While sometimes used in a broad sense to refer to most types of popular Jamaican dance music, the term ''reggae'' more properly denotes a particular music style that was strongly influenced by traditional mento as well as American jazz and rhythm and blues, and evolved out of the earlier genres ska and rocksteady. Plebs (TV Series)
''Plebs'' is a British comedy series broadcast on ITV2. It was first broadcast in March 2013, and is produced by Tom Basden, Caroline Leddy, Sam Leifer and Teddy Leifer. It stars Tom Rosenthal, Ryan Sampson, Joel Fry (Series 1–3), and Jonathan Pointing (from Series 4), who play young residents of ancient Rome ( plebs were ordinary non- patrician citizens of Rome). The format has been compared to ''The Inbetweeners'', ''Up Pompeii'' and ''Chelmsford 123''. The first series, comprising six episodes, was broadcast between 25 March and 22 April 2013. B & C Records
B&C Records (which stood for Beat & Commercial) was a British record label run by Trojan Records' owner, Lee Gopthal. It existed primarily between May 1969 and September 1972. In 1971, the progressive and folk artists that were still signed to the label were moved over to B&C's new Pegasus Records imprint (which later became Peg), though singles continued to be issued on the B&C label until 1972. Pegasus Records released 14 albums before closing down in 1972, after which most of the artists moved over to Mooncrest Records label. Mooncrest had started out as Charisma Records's publishing company, but had become a record label in its own right in 1973. It reissued some of the original Pegasus releases. The company continued after this point in its original format as a record manufacturing, distribution and marketing company, continuing to distribute records by Charisma and Mooncrest. A skinhead is a member of a subculture which originated among working class youths in London, England, in the 1960s and soon spread to other parts of the United Kingdom, with a second working class skinhead movement emerging worldwide in the late 1970s. Motivated by social alienation and working class solidarity, skinheads (often shortened to "skins" in the UK) are defined by their close-cropped or shaven heads and working-class clothing such as Dr. Martens and steel toe work boots, braces, high rise and varying length straight-leg jeans, and button-down collar shirts, usually slim fitting in check or plain. Herman Davis (born 16 September 1944), better known as Bongo Herman, is a Jamaican hand-drummer, percussionist and singer who has had a successful career stretching back to the early 1960s.
