Rudi Esch
Rüdiger "Rudi" Esch (born 10 August 1966 in Düsseldorf) is a German musician, author and music consultant. As a musician, he is best known as the former bass player for industrial band Die Krupps and the punk band Male. Career In 1982, Esch founded the German-speaking punk band Feine Deutsche Art (FDA) as principal composer and lyricist. The band's first concert was supporting Die Toten Hosen in 1983. Further concerts in 1984, including supporting Family 5 and Stunde X, followed in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. Their song ''Mit dem Rücken an der Wand'' (''With Your Back Against the Wall'') was included on local sampler ''Punk’s Not Dead''. In 1985, FDA dissolved and a retrospective was issued in 1990 by Teenage Rebel Records. Based on Jim Jarmusch's film Stranger than Paradise, Esch founded a band of the same name in 1986. Omnibus Press is a publisher of music-related books. It publishes around 30 new titles a year to add to a backlist of over 250 titles currently in print. History Omnibus Press was launched in 1972 as a general non-fiction publisher to complement the sheet music published and distributed by its parent company Music Sales Group. Music Sales had launched a separate company called Book Sales Ltd and the earliest Book Sales catalogue, issued in the early 70s, included compilations of underground comic strips, art and photography titles and one of the earliest books on the then newly discovered art of video. Anne Clark (poet)
Anne Charlotte Clark (born 14 May 1960) is an English poet, singer and songwriter. Her first album, ''The Sitting Room'', was released in 1982, and she has released over a dozen albums since then. Her poetry work with experimental musicians occupies a region bounded roughly by electronic, dance (techno applies on occasion) and possibly avant-garde genres, with varying hard as well as romantic and orchestral styles. Clark is mainly a spoken word artist. Many of her lyrics deal critically with the imperfections of humanity, everyday life, and politics. Especially in her early works she has created a gloomy, melancholy kind of atmosphere bordering on weltschmerz. She has been considered one of the pioneers in the spoken-word music genre, as well as being highly idolised over the board of techno-pop and new wave music, especially across Europe. John Foxx (born Dennis Leigh; 26 September 1948) is an English singer, musician, artist, photographer, graphic designer, writer, teacher and lecturer. He was the original lead singer of the new wave band Ultravox, before leaving to embark on a solo career in 1980 with the album ''Metamatic''. Primarily associated with electronic synthesizer music, he has also pursued a parallel career in graphic design and education. George Andrew McCluskey (born 24 June 1959) is an English singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He is best known as the lead singer and bass guitarist of the electronic band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), which he founded alongside keyboard player Paul Humphreys in 1978. Gabriel Delgado-López (18 April 1958 – 22 March 2020), commonly known as Gabi Delgado, was a Spanish-born German composer, lyricist and producer, best known as singer and co-founder, with Robert Görl, of the German electronic band Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft. Biography Delgado-López grew up in Córdoba. In 1966, his family moved to Germany ("My father had to leave Spain under Franco"), where they lived in Remscheid, Wuppertal, Dortmund and Düsseldorf. Robert Görl
Robert Görl (born 15 June 1955 in Munich) is a German musician, best known for his work with Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft (D.A.F.) and for his solo recordings, particularly ''Night Full Of Tension'' and "Darling Don't Leave Me" (together with Annie Lennox) .
