Rubén Flores
Rubén Flores Gómez (born 3 October 1968) is a Mexican former professional footballer and was most recently the manager of the Cayman Islands women's national team. Playing career Flores had a stint in the Mexican Primera División with Atlante where he appeared in a total of 11 matches and recorded one goal. In 2003, he was signed by the Brampton Hitmen of the Canadian Professional Soccer League. He scored his first goal for the organization on 4 July 2003 in a 2–0 victory over Toronto Croatia. In the first round of the postseason the Hitmen faced Toronto Croatia, and Flores scored the equalizing goal to conclude the match to a 1–1 draw. The game went into penalties with Toronto winning 4–3 in the shootout. After Toronto Croatia was caught fielding an illegal player the league reversed the result and Brampton advanced to the next round. 2003 Canadian Professional Soccer League Season
The 2003 Canadian Professional Soccer League season was the sixth season for the Canadian Professional Soccer League. The season began on May 24, 2003 and concluded on October 5, 2003 with the Brampton Hitmen defeating Vaughan Sun Devils 1-0 to capture the CPSL Championship (known as the Rogers CPSL Cup for sponsorship reasons). The victory marked Brampton's first championship title, and the final was played at Cove Road Stadium in London, Ontario. During the regular season the Ottawa Wizards and the Hamilton Thunder won their respective conferences. Ottawa became the second CPSL franchise to go undefeated throughout the regular season. Unfortunately the season was plagued with controversy as the Wizards withdrew from the playoff competition, due to a dispute with the CPSL Executive Committee. The Canadian Soccer League championship final or CSL Championship is the post-season match of the Canadian Soccer League (CSL) and is the successor to the CNSL Championship. The winner is crowned champion in the same manner as in other North American sports leagues (i.e. via a playoff following a regular season). This differs from other top soccer leagues around the world which consider the club with the most points at the end of the season to be the sole champion. Mexico Women's National Football Team
The Mexico women's national football team represents Mexico on the international stage. The squad is governed by the Mexican Football Federation and competes within CONCACAF, the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football. It has won gold medals in the Central American and Caribbean Games and a silver medal in the Pan American Games team, as well as one silver and one bronze in the Women's World Cup prior to FIFA's recognition of the women's game. Mexico Women's National Under-17 Football Team
The Mexico U-17 women's national football team is the national women's under-17 football team of Mexico and is managed by the Mexican Football Federation. Ana Galindo (football manager), Ana Galindo was named head coach on January 19, 2021, the same day Maribel Dominguez was promoted to the Mexico women's national under-20 football team, U20 squad. Under Mónica Vergara, now the senior team's head coach, the team reached the final at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay. Although they fell 2–1 to Spain, their silver medal is the best showing for any Mexico squad at a FIFA Women's World Cup.
