Ruby Rana (born 1972) is a Nepalese model, actress and beauty pageant title holder. She was crowned as the first ever Miss Nepal in 1994. She competed for the Miss Nepal title after winning the title of Miss Birgunj in 1994. She has also acted in couple of Nepalese films and was the judge of the first season of ''Mega Model'', a modeling-based reality show. Biography She was born on 22 September 1972 in Kathmandu, Nepal. She was one of the judge of the first season of ''Mega Model'', a Nepalese spin-off of ''America's Next Top Model''. She acted in the 2014 Nepalese action movie—''Hasiya'', alongside Rajesh Hamal, Anoop Bikram Shahi and Hema Shrestha. Miss Nepal ( ne, मिस नेपाल) is a national beauty pageant in Nepal. The winners are sent to Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Supranational. History Ever since the pageant started from 1994, historically the winner of the Miss Nepal pageant represented the Nepal in the Miss Asia Pacific. After 1997, the Hidden Treasures collaborated with Kathmandu Jaycees and formed two pageants of Kathmandu Jacyees Miss Nepal and Hidden Treasures Miss World Nepal. From 1998 onwards, the winner of Miss Nepal has been sent to Miss World contest and the 1st runner up to Miss Asia Pacific. No contest was held in 2001 because of the Nepalese royal massacre. Anoop Bikram Shahi (also Anup Bikram Shahi) (Nepali language: अनुप बिक्रम शाहि) is a Nepali model and actor. He was Manhunt International Nepal 2013–2015, and represented Nepal at the Manhunt International Competition held at the Shenzhen Haiya Grand Theatre in Shenzhen, China in October 2016.
