Ruben Blommaert
Ruben Blommaert (born 5 March 1992) is a Belgian-born German pair skater. With his skating partner, Alisa Efimova, he is the 2022 Grand Prix of Espoo silver medalist. He also holds Belgian citizenship and competed for Belgium in single skating until 2010. Blommaert began representing Germany after teaming up with Annabelle Prölß to compete in pairs. They won the 2013 Cup of Nice and the 2013 German national title. He and his next partner, Mari Vartmann, won four ISU Challenger Series medals and the 2015 Cup of Nice. With Annika Hocke, Blommaert won silver medals at the 2017 CS Minsk-Arena Ice Star and 2017 International Cup of Nice and competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics. 2018 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2018 European Figure Skating Championships were held in January 2018 in Moscow, Russia. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. The Bavarian Open is an annual international figure skating competition organized by the Skating Union of Bavaria. Ice Challenge
The Icechallenge (formerly known as the Leo-Scheu-Gedächtnislaufen or Leo Scheu Memorial) is an annual international figure skating competition organized by the Grazer Eislaufverein and sanctioned by the Austrian Figure Skating association and the International Skating Union. The event is usually held every autumn in Graz, Austria. Medals may be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. In 2014 and 2015, the Ice Challenge's senior events were part of the ISU Challenger Series. In 2021, the Icechallenge returned to the ISU Challenger Series under the name Cup of Austria. History The event began in 1971 as the Leo-Scheu-Gedächtnislaufen (Leo Scheu Memorial). It was re-titled the Icechallenge in 2008. 2012–13 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2012–13 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 16th season of the series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2012–13 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating contested by senior-level skaters. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the final at each of the seven Junior Grand Prix events. Single Skating
Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's singles are governed by the International Skating Union (ISU). Figure skating is the oldest winter sport contested at the Olympics, with men's and women's single skating appearing as two of the four figure skating events at the London Games in 1908. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The German Figure Skating Championships ( ger, Deutsche Meisterschaften im Eiskunstlaufen) are a figure skating national championship held annually to determine the national champions of Germany. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. History Unofficial German Figure Skating Championships were held from 1887 to 1889 in Hamburg.
