Aishah And The Fan Club
Aishah and The Fan Club, better known as The Fan Club or just Fan Club, were a New Zealand-based singing group in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group released their first album ''Sensation'' in 1988, which spawned three top-20 singles in the New Zealand and Malaysian charts, "Sensation", "Paradise" and "Call Me" – the latter being a remake of a Spagna song of the same name. Their second album, titled ''Respect the Beat'', also produced three hit singles, including "I Feel Love" and "I Never Gave Up on You", and the band's only single to make the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 Charts – "Don't Let Me Fall Alone". The remixes for this song were among the most played dance tunes in clubs at the time. The group was formed while Aishah was in New Zealand studying in the late 1980s. Christopher Banks
Christopher Banks (born Christopher Rainbow in 1977) is a New Zealand journalist, musician, record producer, songwriter and film-maker. Music Deep Obsession Banks was responsible for eight top 30 New Zealand hits (including three #1's) for three different acts between 1998 and 2002. In 1997, he and producer Michael Lloyd formed what would become one of New Zealand's most successful pop groups, Deep Obsession, with singer/songwriter Zara Clark and Vanessa Kelly. A year later, they were the first New Zealand act to be signed direct to Universal Music and their debut single " Lost in Love" was a number 1 hit. The next two singles, "Cold" and " One & Only", were also chart-toppers – making Deep Obsession part of local chart history. Bang! Bang! Eche! were an alternative rock band from Christchurch, New Zealand, active between 2007 and 2013. History The band started playing shows in early 2007. Towards the end of 2007, the band wrote and recorded a self-titled demo EP. The EP placed in the Top 5 Most Added Albums on US College Radio. It also gained rotation on US radio station KEXP, with single "4 To The Floor" played widely. The band were also played heavily on Australian network Triple J, and had two number one songs ("4 To The Floor" and "Nikee") on the alternative New Zealand b.net radio network. The songs "4 To The Floor" and "Time Mismanagement" charted on the NZ Industry Radioscope chart for 21 weeks in 2008, peaking at #3 and #2 respectively. Bailter Space
Bailter Space (a.k.a. Bailterspace) is a New Zealand shoegaze and noise rock band that formed in Christchurch, in 1987 as Nelsh Bailter Space; they had previously recorded as The Gordons. Its members are Alister Parker (guitar, bass), John Halvorsen (bass, guitar), Brent McLachlan (drums/percussion, samples). After releasing seven studio albums, numerous EPs/singles and a career retrospective compilation, Bailter Space went on an extended hiatus in 2004. Avalanche City is the stage name of indie folk musician Dave Baxter from Auckland, New Zealand. He is best known for his 2011 New Zealand No. 1 single " Love, Love, Love" and his 2015 single Inside Out, which also charted at No. 1. Atlas (band)
Atlas were a New Zealand rock band which was formed in 2005 and disbanded in late 2008. Founding In April 2005, in Hollywood, California, producer Hank Linderman (The Beach Boys, Eagles) introduced New Zealand rocker Ben Campbell (a former member of the band Zed) and his sister Beth Campbell (a backing vocalist for the band Chicago), to 19-year-old American solo artist Sean Cunningham. Together with Joe McCallum, the group decided to form the band Atlas. Ardijah
''Ardijah'' is a music group from Auckland, New Zealand that formed in 1979. History Ardijah formed in 1979 and spent the early part of the eighties playing the Auckland pub and club scene honing their skills as a covers band. They released their first single in 1986, " Give Me Your Number" which was followed in 1987 with " Your Love Is Blind". This was Ardijah's introduction into the music industry where in New Zealand, their popularity was well received. In 1987, Ardijah was able to record their debut self-titled album after winning the Rheineck Rock Award ($30,000 towards recording cost) which was released by WEA. From this album came the singles "That's the Way", "Give Me Time", "Time Makes a Wine" and "Jammin'". Annah Mac is a New Zealand singer-songwriter, producer and musician. Her debut album, '' Little Stranger'' was released on the 5 September 2011, it was listed for seven weeks on the New Zealand Albums Top 40 Chart. The most successful single off the album was " Girl in Stilettos". The single was certified double platinum in New Zealand and was listed for 23 weeks on the New Zealand Top 40. Anderson and Wise was a performing duo from New Zealand. They were also composers, whose songs were recorded by Nash Chase, The Rumour, Quincy Conserve, and Kamahl.
