Royston Brady
Royston Mathew Brady (born 24 August 1972) is an Irish businessman and former politician, who was Lord Mayor of Dublin, Ireland between 2003 and 2004. Once considered a protege of Bertie Ahern, Brady fell foul of the Fianna Fáil party in the mid-2000s and drifted out of Irish politics. He left Ireland during the Post-2008 Irish economic downturn and emigrated to Florida in the United States. Background and early life Brady was born in Holles Street Hospital and brought up in Artane, he was one of the nine children of Richard Brady from Dublin's inner city and Doreen Lynch from Clanbrassil Street; his father was a taxi driver, showband singer and furniture dealer. He attended the Billie Barry stage school and appeared as an extra in the film Excalibur in 1981, he was also an under-age footballer with St Vincent's GAA Club. The Lord Mayor of Dublin ( ga, Ardmhéara Bhaile Átha Cliath) is the honorary title of the chairperson ( ga, Cathaoirleach, links=no ) of Dublin City Council which is the local government body for the city of Dublin, the capital of Ireland. Fairview () is an inner coastal suburb of Dublin in Ireland, in the jurisdiction of Dublin City Council and in the city's D03 postal district. Part of the area forms Fairview Park, a recreational amenity laid-out on land reclaimed from the sea. Location Modern day Fairview is a popular inner suburb of Dublin that stretches north east from the River Tolka to Clontarf Road DART Station along Fairview Park to the south, and along the redbrick Victorian part of Philipsburgh Avenue to the north. Kevin Heffernan (Gaelic Footballer)
Kevin Heffernan (20 August 1929 – 25 January 2013) was an Irish Gaelic footballer and manager who played as a left corner-forward at senior level for the Dublin county team. Heffernan made his debut during the 1948 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1962 championship. During that time he won one All-Ireland medal, four Leinster medals and three National League medals. An All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion, Heffernan captained the team to the All-Ireland title in 1958. At club level Heffernan enjoyed a lengthy career with St. Vincent's. He won fifteen county football championship medals and six county hurling championship medals. In retirement from playing Heffernan became involved in coaching and team management. Mansion House, Dublin
The Mansion House ( ga, Teach an Ard-Mhéara) is a house on Dawson Street, Dublin, which has been the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Dublin since 1715, and was also the meeting place of the Dáil Éireann from 1919 until 1922. History The Mansion House was built in 1710 by the merchant and property developer Joshua Dawson, after whom Dawson Street is named. It was constructed on a piece of poor quality marshy land outside the medieval city walls which was acquired by Dawson in 1705.
