Royse City Griffins
The Southwest League of Professional Baseball was a planned independent professional baseball league. The first two announced teams were the Waco BlueCats and the Royse City Griffins followed by the Joplin Miners. In July 2018, it was announced that the Southwest League planned to play a 112-game schedule in 2019. However, the 2019 season was canceled. Announced franchises As late as July 2018 the league continued to say it would begin operations with six teams, but only four teams were ever announced. The Joplin franchise defaulted on their lease with Joplin, Missouri for non-payment in January 2019. The league's contract with Joplin called for a schedule of play and disclosure of the leagues' two other teams by October 15, 2018. The league said in January 2019 that this had been done privately pending final details. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. The ''Fort Worth Star-Telegram'' is an American daily newspaper serving Fort Worth and Tarrant County, the western half of the North Texas area known as the Metroplex. Joe Becker Stadium
Joe Becker Stadium is an American baseball ballpark, built in 1913, located in Joplin, Missouri. The stadium has burned down twice, the first time in 1936 and the second time in 1971. The stadium currently has seating capacity of 4,200 as the home of the Joplin Outlaws of the summer collegiate MINK League. Royse City, Texas
Royse City is a city in Rockwall County in the U.S. state of Texas. It also extends into Collin and Hunt counties. The population was 2,957 at the 2000 census, rising to 9,349 in 2010. Reverchon Park
Reverchon Park is a public park in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas, Texas. It was named for Julien Reverchon. The park lies along Turtle Creek, a tributary of the Trinity River. Its main entrance is at Maple Avenue and Turtle Creek Boulevard. History Built in 1915, Reverchon Park is one of the oldest parks in the city.
