Royal Viking Line
The Royal Viking Line was an upmarket cruise line that operated from 1972 until 1998. The company was the brain child of Warren Titus and had its headquarters at One Embarcadero Center in San Francisco. History The First Ships Each of the line's initial three vessels was owned by one of its initial investing partners. The first, the '' Royal Viking Star'', was completed in July, 1972. Its owner was Bergenske Dampskibsselskab (Bergen Line). The second, the '' Royal Viking Sky'', was owned by Nordenfjeldske Dampskibsselskab of Trondheim. She was completed in July 1973. Seabourn Cruise Line
Seabourn Cruise Line is a cruise line headquartered in Seattle, Washington. It is owned by Carnival Corporation & plc. History Seabourn Cruise Line was founded in 1986 under the name "Signet Cruise Lines" by the Norwegian private investor and Warren S. Titus. The name "Seabourn Cruise Line" was adopted shortly afterward following objections over trademark ownership by Signet Oil. Its first ship, '' Seabourn Pride'', entered service in 1988, followed by an identical sister, '' Seabourn Spirit'', in 1989. A third vessel, originally planned for 1990, was delayed due to investors' financial constraints and was ultimately purchased by Royal Viking Line in 1992 as '' Royal Viking Queen''. MS ''Amera'' (formerly ''Seabourn Sun'', ''Royal Viking Sun'' and ''Prinsendam'') is a cruise ship operated by Phoenix Reisen. She was launched in 1988 as ''Royal Viking Sun'' for Royal Viking Line, and began operating for Cunard Line under the same name in 1994.
