Royal Library, Windsor
The office of Royal Librarian, in the Royal Collection Department of the Royal Household of the Sovereign of the United Kingdom, is responsible for the care and maintenance of the books and manuscripts in the Royal Library, a collection spread across all the palaces, occupied and unoccupied. Royal Collection
The Royal Collection of the British royal family is the largest private art collection in the world. Spread among 13 occupied and historic royal residences in the United Kingdom, the collection is owned by King Charles III and overseen by the Royal Collection Trust. The British monarch owns some of the collection in right of the Crown and some as a private individual. It is made up of over one million objects, including 7,000 paintings, over 150,000 works on paper, this including 30,000 watercolours and drawings, and about 450,000 photographs, as well as around 700,000 works of art, including tapestries, furniture, ceramics, textiles, carriages, weapons, armour, jewellery, clocks, musical instruments, tableware, plants, manuscripts, books, and sculptures. British Library
The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and is one of the largest libraries in the world. It is estimated to contain between 170 and 200 million items from many countries. British Monarchy

Fitzwilliam Museum
The Fitzwilliam Museum is the art and antiquities museum of the University of Cambridge. It is located on Trumpington Street opposite Fitzwilliam Street in central Cambridge. It was founded in 1816 under the will of Richard FitzWilliam, 7th Viscount FitzWilliam (1745–1816), and comprises one of the best collections of antiquities and modern art in western Europe. With over half a million objects and artworks in its collections, the displays in the museum explore world history and art from antiquity to the present. Martin Clayton
Martin Clayton, LVO, FSA, (born 1967) is Head of Prints and Drawings for Royal Collection Trust at Windsor Castle. He is a specialist in the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci. Early life Martin Clayton was born in Harrogate, North Yorkshire on 30 December 1967 to David and Brenda Clayton. He was educated at King James's School, Knaresborough, and from 1986 to 1990 at Christ's College, University of Cambridge, where he studied Natural Sciences and History of Art, graduating with a first. He credits his interest in art to a school trip to the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg where he was fascinated by the chisel marks on a sculpture there. The Print Room at Windsor Castle is a print room which is an office in the Royal Collection Department of the Royal Household of the Sovereign of the United Kingdom. It is responsible for the care and maintenance of the royal collections of drawings and old master prints, including watercolours. Jane, Lady Roberts
Priscilla Jane Stephanie, Lady Roberts, ( Low; 4 September 1949 – 29 June 2021), known as simply Jane Roberts, was the Curator of the Print Room at Windsor Castle from 1975 and the Royal Librarian from 2002 until her retirement in July 2013. Oliver Everett, is a former British diplomat and academic, who served as Royal Librarian to the Sovereign of the United Kingdom. Robin Mackworth-Young
Sir Robert Christopher 'Robin' Mackworth-Young (12 February 1920 – 5 December 2000) was a British academic and librarian, who served as Royal Librarian between 1958 and 1985. Early life and education Mackworth-Young was the son of Gerard Mackworth Young, a civil servant in British India. He was educated at Eton College and King's College, Cambridge, where he was President of the Union. Second World War Upon the outbreak of the Second World War, Mackworth-Young joined the Royal Air Force. He saw active service in the Middle East and in the Normandy Campaign, leaving the RAF as a Squadron Leader in 1948. He subsequently joined the Foreign Office. Sir Owen Frederick Morshead, (28 September 1893 – 1 June 1977) was a British Army officer and librarian, who served as Royal Librarian (United Kingdom), Royal Librarian from 1926 to 1958. Early life Morshead was born in Tavistock, Devon, the son of Reginald Morshead and Ella Mary Moreshead. He was educated at Marlborough College and then, initially intending to pursue a career in the Royal Engineers, at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. John Fortescue (military Historian)
The Honourable Sir John William Fortescue (28 December 1859 – 22 October 1933) was a British military historian. He was a historian of the British Army and served as Royal Librarian and Archivist at Windsor Castle from 1905 until 1926. Early life Fortescue was born on 28 December 1859 in Madeira, the 5th son of Hugh, 3rd Earl Fortescue, by his wife Georgina, Countess Fortescue (née Dawson-Damer). His family owned much of the area around Simonsbath on Exmoor since the twelfth century, thus he joined the North Devon Yeomanry Cavalry latterly serving as a major. Fortescue was educated at Harrow School and Trinity College, Cambridge, later lecturing at Oxford ( DLitt (Oxon)). Richard Rivington Holmes
Sir Richard Rivington Holmes, KCVO (16 November 1835 – 22 March 1911) was a British archivist and courtier. Biography Holmes was Royal Librarian at Windsor Castle, 1870-1905. He was appointed by Queen Victoria and was reappointed by King Edward VII in 1901. He was a lieutenant-colonel of the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Berkshire Regiment. He was appointed Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in January 1905. In 1895 He received the Queen Victoria Version of the Royal Household Long and Faithful Service Medal for 25 years service to the British Royal Family.
