Royal High School (RHS) is a public high school in Simi Valley, California. Royal is part of the Simi Valley Unified School District and is located on Simi Valley's west side. History Royal High School opened its doors in 1968 with sophomores and juniors, graduating its first class in 1970. At the time, the Simi Valley Unified School District educated ninth-grade students at its junior high schools. Academics Royal High School has been named a California Distinguished School and is the recipient of a Digital High School Technology Grant. The grant provides numerous courses of study and allows the school to offer a variety of Advanced Placement classes including AP English, Statistics, Physics, Calculus AB and BC, Computer Science, Studio Art, World and U.S. History, Spanish, French, Government, Economics, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as many honors courses. Simi Valley (; Chumash: ''Shimiyi'') is a city in the valley of the same name in the southeast region of Ventura County, California, United States. Simi Valley is from Downtown Los Angeles, making it part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The city sits next to Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Chatsworth. Michael Capaldi (born March 27, 1990), popularly known as Mike Mo Capaldi, is a professional regular-footed skateboarder who gained popularity following his video part in ''Forecast'', a video produced by professional skateboarder Paul Rodriguez. Scott Adam Rice (born September 21, 1981) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. A first-round draft pick in the 1999 MLB Draft, his career was slowed by injuries. Matthew William Magill (born November 10, 1989) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota Twins, and Seattle Mariners.
