Roya Arab
Roya Arab (born 1967) is an Iranian musician and archaeologist. Musical career Born in Tehran, Iran, Roya Arab learned the craft of singing during jam sessions around London in the early and mid-1990s. She was the first Iranian female to receive a publishing and recording deal from a major Western label, when she was signed as a member of Archive to Island Records in 1994, and the album ''Londinium'' was released in 1996. The band broke up shortly after. Arab went on to work with various artists, including Leila in Like Weather, Grooverider in ''Mysteries of Funk'', followed by some work in Paris with Zend Avesta and Naab, before working on a project with Mike Figgis. ''Courtesy of Choice'' (2000) by Leila was the last album Arab appeared on before a hiatus to study archaeology. Rone
Rone is the pseudonym of Tyrone Wright (born 1980), an internationally renowned street artist based in Melbourne, Australia. History Rone grew up in the city of Geelong, Victoria, before moving to Melbourne in 2001. In 2002, he started decorating skateboards and skate parks before beginning to put paste-ups and stencils on walls around Melbourne. He is known for his iconic "Jane Doe" images. In the earlier years of his career, Rone used to use wheat pasting to do quick paste-ups in busy locations, but nowadays Rone's work on the streets are mostly created using traditional painting materials such as rollers and paintbrushes. Exile is primarily penal expulsion from one's native country, and secondarily expatriation or prolonged absence from one's homeland under either the compulsion of circumstance or the rigors of some high purpose. The Zoroastrian Trust Funds Of Europe
The Zoroastrian Trust Funds of Europe (ZTFE) is a religious, cultural and social organisation for Zoroastrians residing in Europe, mainly the United Kingdom. It was founded on 31 October 1861 by Muncherjee Hormusji Cama and Dadabhai Naoroji. At the time of its founding, it was reported that there were approximately fifty Zoroastrians present in England who were mainly students. However, Zoroastrians have been present in the United Kingdom long before the foundation of the ZTFE; the first known Parsi arrival being Nowroji Rustom Maneck Sett (Nowroji Rustomji) in 1721 or 1724. Currently there are around 5,000 members of the ZTFE. The secretariat and principal venue attached to the organisation is Zoroastrian Centre located in the Rayners Lane area of Harrow. Leila Arab ( fa, لیلا عرب, born in 1971), professionally known as Leila, is an Iranian-born record producer and DJ based in London, England. She has released music on the labels Rephlex, XL and Warp. She has also worked extensively with Icelandic singer Björk. Biography Arab was born in Pahlavi Iran and spent part of her childhood there. Her family fled to London following the Iranian Revolution in 1979. She became interested in DJing and keyboards, and left college to perform with singer Björk 1994, later working with her as a sound engineer and live mixer. She met Richard D. James while both were on tour with Björk, and both James and Grant Wilson-Claridge suggested she release her solo recordings on their label Rephlex Records. Mahdyar Aghajani ( fa, مهدیار آقاجانی; born 22 January 1989) is a musician, record producer and composer born and raised in Tehran, Iran. He raised the standard of Iranian underground music, using Persian traditional instruments (such as oud, santoor, daf, tombak, ney, kamancheh and qanoon) in electronic and hip hop music.
