Roy Myers
Roy Anthony Myers Francis (born April 13, 1969 in La Francia de Siquirres) is a Costa Rican former football player who played most of his career with Deportivo Saprissa. Club career Myers was known as ''El Maravilloso'' (The Marvellous) due to his natural talent to play the game, becoming a typical number 10. He made his professional debut for hometown club Limonense but in his country he played mostly with Saprissa, winning three national championships with them, as well as two CONCACAF Champions Cups. During his time with Saprissa, Myers was once suspended for 7 matches after insulting the referee and refusing to leave the pitch. He had several spells abroad, playing in Uruguay with Peñarol in an injury-hit 1992, Pachuca of Mexico in the mid 1990s, Tolima of Colombia in 1997 and later in Major League Soccer, where he played with the MetroStars and the Los Angeles Galaxy. Siquirres (canton)
Siquirres is a canton in the Limón province of Costa Rica. The head city is in Siquirres district. History Siquirres was created on 19 September 1911 by decree 11. Geography Siquirres has an area of km² and a mean elevation of metres. The canton touches the Caribbean coast between the mouths of the Pacuare River to the southeast and the Parismina River to the northwest. It encompasses territory in a southwest direction, between the Madre de Dios River on the southeast side and the Destierro River on the northwest, as far as the southernmost portion of the Cordillera Central. The area is drained by the rivers Reventazón, Parismina, Pacuare River, Madre de Dios, Matina River and Siquirres River. FIFA World Cup Qualification
The FIFA World Cup qualification is a competitive match that a national association football team takes in order to qualify for one of the available berths at the final tournament of the (men's) FIFA World Cup. Estadio Azteca () is a multi-purpose stadium located in Mexico City. It is the official home of football clubs Club América and Cruz Azul as well as the Mexico national football team. Bolivia hosted the Copa América for the second time in its 38th edition. It was held from 11 to 29 June. It was organized by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body. There is no qualifying for the final tournament. 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the fourth edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). The tournament was once again held in the United States, in Los Angeles, Miami, and Oakland. The format of the tournament changed from 1996: it was expanded to ten teams, with four in Group A and three each in Groups B and C. The top team in each group, plus the second place in Group A would advance to the semifinals. Brazil was invited again, and brought their senior team this time. Jamaica, getting ready for the 1998 World Cup, pulled the stunner of the first round. They did not originally qualify for the tournament, but Canada withdrew, granting them a spot. The 1993 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the second edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). The format of the tournament stayed the same as in 1991: eight teams were broken up into two groups of four, with the top two in each group advancing to the semifinals. It was the first Gold Cup to be co-hosted; Group A was held in the United States (Dallas), and Group B in Mexico (Mexico City). The tournament was won by Mexico, who beat the US 4–0 in the final.
