Roy Folkman
Roy Folkman ( he, רוֹעִי פוֹלְקְמָן, born 5 August 1975) is an Israeli politician. He served as a member of the Knesset for Kulanu between 2015 and 2019. Biography During his IDF national service Folkman served as a combat medic. After leaving the army, he was involved in the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, and studied for a BA in economics, Islam and Middle Eastern studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he was leader of the student union. He later gained a master's degree in public policy, studying at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Between 2008 and 2012 he worked as an advisor to the Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat. In the 2013 he was placed sixth on Barkat's list for the City Council elections, but failed to win a seat. September 2019 Israeli Legislative Election
Snap legislative elections were held in Israel on 17 September 2019 to elect the 120 members of the 22nd Knesset. Following the previous elections in April, incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a governing coalition for a second consecutive time. On 30 May, the Knesset voted to dissolve itself and trigger new elections, in order to prevent Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz from being appointed Prime Minister-designate. This election marked the first time the Knesset voted to dissolve itself before a government had been formed. Kulanu ( he, כולנו, lit. ''All of Us'') was a centrist political party in Israel founded by Moshe Kahlon that focused on economic and cost-of-living issues. History The party was established on 27 November 2014 following months of speculation that Kahlon would form a new party after he took a break from politics in 2013. Opinion polls in the summer of 2014 had suggested that a new party formed by Kahlon could win 5–8 seats in the Knesset. When the party was established, its registration forms listed Kahlon, Orna Angel and Avi Gabbay as its founders.
