Ignatius Royston Dunnachie Campbell, better known as Roy Campbell (2 October 1901 – 23 April 1957), was a South African poet, literary critic, literary translator, war poet, and satirist. Born into a White South African family of Scottish descent in Durban, Colony of Natal, Campbell was sent to England to attend Oxford University. Instead, Campbell drifted into London's literary bohemia. Following his marriage to bohemian Mary Garman, Campbell wrote the well-received poem ''The Flaming Terrapin'' which brought the Campbells into the highest circles of British literature. After supporting racial equality during a stay in South Africa as editor of the literary magazine ''Voorslag'', Campbell returned to England and became involved with the Bloomsbury Group. Campbell ultimately decided that the Bloomsbury Group was snobbish, promiscuous, nihilistic, and anti-Christian. Roy Edward Campbell, Jr. (born November 19, 1947) is an African-American prelate of the Catholic Church and serves as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Washington. Biography Priesthood On May 26, 2007, Campbell was ordained to the priesthood by Cardinal Donald Wuerl. Materials published by the Archdiocese of Washington credit former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick with "guid ngBishop Campbell through his discernment of his call to the holy priesthood." Episcopacy Pope Francis appointed Campbell as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Washington on March 8, 2017. On April 21, 2017, Campbell was consecrated as a bishop by Cardinal Wuerl. Campbell's episcopal coat of arms contains a lion derived from McCarrick's coat of arms and a tower derived from Wuerl's coat of arms. Roy H (foaled April 22, 2012) is a Thoroughbred racehorse who is the two time winner of the Breeders' Cup Sprint. He was named the American Champion Sprint Horse of 2017 and 2018. He did not start racing until age three, when he won only one race, and he was winless at age four. In 2017 at age five however, he developed into the best sprinter in North America by winning the True North Stakes, Santa Anita Sprint Championship and Breeders' Cup Sprint. In 2018, he defended his wins in the Breeders' Cup Sprint and Santa Anita Sprint Championship, plus finished second in the Bing Crosby Stakes and third in the Dubai Golden Shaheen.
