Route Nationale 13 (Madagascar)
Route nationale 13 (RN 13) is a primary highway in Madagascar of 493 km, running from Ihosy to Tolagnaro (Fort-Dauphin). It crosses the regions of Ihorombe, Androy and Anosy. It is completely unpaved between Ihosy and Ambovombe, paved but in bad shape between Ambovombe and Tolagnaro. It was planned to pave the section between Ihosy and Ambovombe from 2009 on with funding by the European Union but this project was stopped due to the political take over of Andry Rajoelina and the 2009 Malagasy political crisis. - 25 April 2013 Selected locations on route (north to south) * |

Antanimora Sud (Antanimora Atsimo) is a town and commune in Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Ambovombe-Androy, which is a part of Androy Region. It is situated at the Route nationale 13, Ihosy to Tolagnaro, at 321 km from Ihosy, 203 km from Betroka, 78 km from Beraketa and 62 km from Ambovombe. ''Route nationale 12a'' (''RN 12a'') is a primary highway in Madagascar of 232 km, running from Vangaindrano to Tôlanaro (Fort Dauphin). Manambaro
Manambaro is a rural municipality in Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Taolanaro, which is a part of Anosy Region. It is situated at 21 kilometers on the Route nationale 13, Ihosy to Tolagnaro. Though, the bridge over the Manambaro river has collapsed in 2021. The word "Manambaro" means "has a lot of varo". "Varo" is a large and tall tree which was peculiar of the Anosy region and has been almost extinct or has disappeared now from charcoal makers. Very few are noted in Analapatsy. In addition to primary schooling, the town offers secondary education at both junior and senior levels. Berenty Reserve
Berenty Reserve is a small private reserve of gallery forest along the Mandrare River, set in the semi-arid spiny forest ecoregion of the far south of Madagascar. For more than three decades the late primatologist Alison Jolly (who started the research at Berenty), other researchers and students have visited Berenty to conduct fieldwork on lemurs. The reserve is also a favourite for visitors who want to see some of Madagascar's endemic bird species, which include owls and couas. The reserve has accommodation in the forest and a set of forest trails to explore. It attracts the most visitors of any Madagascar nature reserve.
