Route 4 (Hong Kong)
Route 4 ( Chinese: 四號幹綫) is an east-west road artery along the Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Formerly divided into routes 7 (Causeway Bay - Aberdeen) and 8 (Utilisation of Island Eastern Corridor), it was absorbed into Route 4 in 2004. Route The current Route 4 could be divided into two sections: From Chai Wan the route travels west towards Central via Island Eastern Corridor, Central–Wan Chai Bypass. Part two of the roadway extension, which took Route 4 from Connaught Road Central to Kennedy Town via was completed in 1997. Chai Wan Road
Chai Wan Road () located in Hong Kong, is one of the major roads in Chai Wan on Hong Kong Island. It runs from Shau Kei Wan to Chai Wan through Chai Wan Gap; with one of the steepest inclines in Hong Kong on either side, with signs posted 1 in 10 gradient. It is therefore popularly referred to as ''Cheung Meng Che'' (長命斜), or long-lived incline. The road was the only way towards Chai Wan before the opening of the Island Eastern Corridor and MTR Island line. Currently, it is still the only pedestrian route connecting to Chai Wan. Connaught Road West
Connaught Road is a major thoroughfare on the north shore of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It links Shing Sai Road in Kennedy Town to the west and Harcourt Road in Admiralty to the east. Location The road consists of two adjoining sections, namely Connaught Road Central () and Connaught Road West (). Connaught Road Central runs the length of Central, parallel to the north shore. It runs from approximately Admiralty in the east, where it connects Harcourt Road at the junction with Murray Road. The road ends west at On Tai Street, where it becomes Connaught Road West. Aldrich Bay
Aldrich Bay (), named after Major Edward Aldrich (), was formerly a bay in the north shore on the Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It is now reclaimed and is a housing area outside the area of Shau Kei Wan, neighbouring A Kung Ngam and Lei King Wan. Outside Aldrich Bay, it is the Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter. It is not a small community. It contains Oi Tung Estate, Tung Yuk Court, Aldrich Garden and other private housings, with several primary school and secondary school. Hing Wah Estate () is a public housing estate in Chai Wan, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, near MTR Chai Wan station. The estate comprises 10 residential buildings. The 7 "Old Slab" blocks belong to Hing Wah (II) Estate () completed in 1976, while the 3 "Harmony 1" buildings belong to Hing Wah (I) Estate () completed in 1999 and 2000. Background Hing Wah (I) Estate was a resettlement estate which had 3 resettlement blocks completed in 1971. 7 more "Old Slab" blocks were completed in 1976, which formed Hing Wah (II) Estate. Siu Sai Wan
Siu Sai Wan () is a residential area in the northeastern part of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It is located in the eastern part of Chai Wan, and is administratively under the Eastern District. Aberdeen, Hong Kong
Aberdeen () is an area on southwest Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. Administratively, it is part of the Southern District. Heng Fa Chuen is a private housing estate in Chai Wan, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, jointly developed by MTR Corporation and Heng Fa Chuen Development. A Kung Ngam
A Kung Ngam () is a village and an area in northeast Shau Kei Wan in the northeast of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. It contains a fish terminal market, several temples and the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence. Name ''A Kung'' literally means maternal grandfather or old man in Cantonese while ''Ngam'' means rock, but in the case of this place name, "A Kung" refers to Tam Kung, a sea deity who the quarry workers believed in. A temple dedicated to Tam Kung is located in A Kung Ngam. History A Kung Ngam was a rock quarry in the 19th century, and the area was predominantly inhabited by quarry workers who immigrated from Huizhou and Chaozhou.
