Route 122 is a primary, minor arterial highway in the United States. It begins at Interstate 95 in West Haven, Connecticut. West Haven, Connecticut
West Haven is a city in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. It is located on the coast of Long Island Sound. At the 2020 census, the population of the city was 55,584. History Settled in 1648, West Haven (then known as West Farms) was a part of the original New Haven Colony. In 1719, it became the separate parish of West Haven, but was still officially a part of New Haven until 1822. During the American Revolution, West Haven was the frequent launch and arrival point for raiding parties on both sides of the war. On July 5, 1779, the British invaded New Haven Harbor and came ashore in West Haven and East Haven, Connecticut, East Haven. Woodmont is a borough of the city of Milford, in New Haven County, Connecticut. The population was 1,488 at the 2010 census. It was first created by Special Act of Connecticut General Assembly in 1893 as the Woodmont Improvement Association. In 1903 it became the Woodmont Association.Connecticut General Assembly Special Act House Joint Resolution No. 430 in 1903. It became a municipality in 1957 when the Connecticut General Assembly passed House Bill No. 2443 "An Act to change the Association status of Woodmont to Borough status". The Branford Connector is an unsigned State Road in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It serves as a connecting road from Interstate 95 (I-95) to U.S. Route 1 (US 1). The roadway has been numbered State Road 794 by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Route description State Route 794 connects between I-95 and US 1, entirely within the town of Branford, Connecticut. It is long. The route is an urban, minor arterial with one lane in each direction. The route has full access control along its entire length. Exit signs on I-95 mark the route as access to US-1, Route 142 to Short Beach, and Route 146. Connecticut Route 10 is a state highway that runs between New Haven and the state line near Granby. It continues north of the state line as Massachusetts Route 10, which in turn continues directly to New Hampshire Route 10. Route 10 was originally commissioned in 1922 as New England Route 10, connecting Old Saybrook to Granby. In the 1927 the New England system of route numbers was disbanded, and the route was added to the state route system. 1932 State Highway Renumbering (Connecticut)
In 1932, the Highway Department of the U.S. state of Connecticut (now known as the Connecticut Department of Transportation), decided to completely renumber all its state highways. The only exceptions were the U.S. Highways and some of the New England Interstate Routes. Between 1922 and 1932, Connecticut used a state highway numbering system shared with the other New England states. Major inter-state trunk routes used numbers in the 1-99 range, primary intrastate highways used numbers in the 100-299 range, and secondary state highways used numbers in the 300+ range. In 1926, at the behest of the American Association of State Highway Officials, four of the nine New England Interstate Routes that passed through Connecticut became U.S. Routes. Because it is located along the Atlantic coast it serves as a more scenic alternate route to US 1, where it both begins and ends.
