Round Mountain (Northern Tablelands)
Round Mountain, a mountain of the Snowy Range, a spur of the Great Dividing Range, is located on the Northern Tablelands in the New England region in New South Wales, Australia. With an elevation of above sea level, Round Mountain is the highest peak of the Snowy Range which forms part of the eastern escarpment of the Northern Tablelands. The mountain is located in Cathedral Rock National Park, about east of and west of , and northwest of the better known Point Lookout, in New England National Park. It is located a few kilometres west of the small settlement of . The nearest sealed road is the Waterfall Way, approximately from the mountain peak. Description The northern slopes of Round Mountain are drained by the Guy Fawkes River which flows over the Ebor Falls and eventually goes into the Clarence River. Northern Tablelands
The Northern Tablelands, also known as the New England Tableland, is a plateau and a region of the Great Dividing Range in northern New South Wales, Australia. It includes the New England Range, the narrow highlands area of the New England region, stretching from the Moonbi Range in the south to the Queensland border in the north. The region corresponds generally to the Bureau of Meteorology forecast area for the Northern Tablelands which in this case includes Inverell although it is significantly lower in elevation. Geography and climate These tablelands are the largest highland area in Australia, covering approximately 18,197 square kilometres. Chandler River (New South Wales)
Chandler River, a perennial stream of the Macleay River catchment, is located in the Northern Tablelands district of New South Wales, Australia. Oaky River, a perennial stream of the Macleay River catchment, is located in the Northern Tablelands district of New South Wales, Australia. Course and features Oaky River rises on the southern slopes of Round Mountain, the highest peak of the Snowy Range, a spur of the Great Dividing Range south southwest of Ebor, and flows generally southwest, joined by one minor tributary before reaching its confluence with the Chandler River, southwest of Jeogla. Ebor Falls
Ebor Falls is a tiered waterfall on the Guy Fawkes River, located near Ebor and about north-east of Wollomombi on Waterfall Way in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia. This viewing platform shows the upper falls tumbling over 4 layers of columned basalt rock in two falls. Waterfall Way
Waterfall Way is a country road in the Northern Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia, linking Raleigh on the state's North Coast to Armidale. The route passes through some of New South Wales' most scenic countryside and has become well known as its best and Australia's third most beautiful tourist drive. Seven national parks, of which three are listed as World Heritage Areas by UNESCO and form part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia (formerly the Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves), are located on or close to the route.
