Roti (1974 Film)
''Roti'' () is a 1974 Indian Hindi-language action film, produced by Rajni Desai and Rajesh Khanna under the banner Aashirwad Pictures Pvt. Ltd and directed by Manmohan Desai. It stars Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz, with music composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. This film was released on 18 October 1974, along with '' Benaam'' and '' Roti Kapda Aur Makaan''. Kader Khan was reportedly paid 1.21 Lakhs for writing dialogues for the film. The film was remade in Telugu as '' Neram Nadi Kadu Akalidi'', starring N.T. Rama Rao and Manjula. Plot Mangal Singh has been a career criminal and he is finally sentenced to be hanged due to the murder of a man for the sake of bread (roti). Manmohan Desai
Manmohan Desai (26 February 1937 – 1 March 1994) was an Indian film producer and director. He was one of the most successful filmmaker of the 70s and 80s. Desai is now considered one of most influential film director of Bollywood and a pioneer of making masala film. Family background Manmohan Desai was of Gujarati ancestry. His father, Kikubhai Desai, was an Indian film producer and owner of Paramount Studios (later Filmalaya) from 1931 to 1941. His productions, mainly stunt films, included ''Circus Queen'', ''Golden Gang'', and ''Sheikh Challi''. Manmohan Desai's elder brother, Subhash Desai, became a producer in the 1950s and gave Manmohan his first break in the Hindi film ''Chhalia'' (1960). Sujit Kumar
Sujit Kumar (7 February 1934 – 5 February 2010) was an Indian actor and producer. He appeared in over 150 Hindi films in the 1960s through the 1990s, and in at least 20 Bhojpuri films. Sujit played the major lead actor in many films in Bhojpuri cinema whereas in Hindi films he played pivotal roles either as a villain or as a character actor. ''Face of a Fugitive'' is a 1959 American Western film directed by Paul Wendkos. It stars Fred MacMurray, Lin McCarthy, Myrna Fahey, James Coburn and Dorothy Green and was based on the short story "Long Gone" by Peter Dawson, the pen name of Jonathan H.
