Rothwell Town F.C.
Rothwell Town F.C. was a football club based in Rothwell in the north of Northamptonshire. They were founding members of the Northamptonshire League in 1895, and played in the United Counties League Division One until 2011–12. History The club was formed as Rothwell Town Swifts in 1895 and the club were founder members of the Northamptonshire League. The club's nickname, the Bones, derives from the bone crypt in the town's Holy Trinity Church, one of only two medieval ossuaries in the country; the other being at St Leonards, Hythe, Kent. Although financial difficulties led to the club switching between senior and junior football on several occasions, they did manage to achieve several runners-up positions during their stay in the Northants League. Rothwell is a market town in North Northamptonshire, England. It is close to three larger towns, situated 4 miles .4kmnorthwest of Kettering, 7 miles 1kmsoutheast of Market Harborough and 8 miles 2.8kmsouthwest of Corby. Rothwell's nearest railway station is at Kettering on the Midland Main Line. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Ricky Howard Miller (born 13 March 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Risborough Rangers. Miller spent time in the youth systems at Charlton Athletic and Woking, before making his senior debut with Stamford in September 2006. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium.
