''Roswell, Little Green Man'' was a Bongo Comics series created by Bill Morrison (comics), Bill Morrison. It was nominated for four Eisner Awards. The series debuted in 1996 and ran for six issues. In an interview with ''Neatorama'', Morrison said, "''Roswell, Little Green Man'' was inspired by the story of the Roswell UFO crash, but also by my desire to draw vintage cars, fashions, architecture, etc. from the 1940's. Bongo Comics
Bongo Comics Group was a comic book publishing company founded in 1993 by Matt Groening along with Steve & Cindy Vance and Bill Morrison. It published comics related to the animated television series ''The Simpsons'' and ''Futurama'', as well as the ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' comics, along with original material. The company was named after Bongo, a rabbit character in Groening's comic strip ''Life in Hell''. Bongo, at some time in its history, printed ''Simpsons Comics'', '' Simpsons Comics and Stories'', ''Futurama Comics'', '' Krusty Comics'', ''Lisa Comics'', '' Bart Simpson'', '' Bartman'', '' Itchy & Scratchy Comics'' and '' Radioactive Man''. Bill Morrison (comics)
Bill Morrison (born 1959) is an American comic book artist, writer, and editor. He is a co-founder of Bongo Comics (along with Matt Groening and Steve and Cindy Vance). Early life Morrison is a native of Lincoln Park, Michigan, a Downriver suburb of Detroit. He attended the College for Creative Studies. Career At the beginning of his career in the early 1980s, Morrison worked as a technical illustrator for Artech, Inc. Roswell UFO Crash
The Roswell incident was an event that occurred in 1947, pertaining to the recovery of mundane metallic and rubber debris from a military balloon that crashed near Corona, New Mexico by United States Army Air Forces officers from Roswell Army Air Field. Decades later, conspiracy theories began claiming that the debris involved a flying saucer and that the truth had been covered up by the United States government.: "Flight 4 was launched June 4, 1947, from Alamogordo Army Air Field and tracked flying northeast toward Corona. It was within of the Brazel ranch when contact was lost." On July 8, 1947, Roswell Army Air Field issued a press release stating that they had recovered a "flying disc". The Army quickly retracted the statement and said instead that the crashed object was a conventional weather balloon. Dave Stevens
Dave Lee Stevens (July 29, 1955 – March 11, 2008) was an American illustrator and comics artist. He was most famous for creating ''Rocketeer, The Rocketeer'' comic book and film character, and for his pin-up style "glamour art" illustrations, especially of model Bettie Page. He was the first to win Comic-Con International's Russ Manning Award, Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award in 1982, and received both an Inkpot Award and the Kirby Award for Best Graphic Album in 1986. Early life Stevens was born July 29, 1955, in Lynwood, California, but grew up in Portland, Oregon. His family relocated to San Diego, where he attended San Diego City College for two years, and attended the then-new annual San Diego Comic-Con (now Comic-Con International).
