Rostom Chkheidze
Rostom Chkheidze (Georgian language, Georgian: როსტომ ჩხეიძე, born on April 1, 1959) is a Georgian author, academician and politician who has served in the Parliament of Georgia since 2020. Son of the author Otar Chkheidze and brother of businesswoman and politician Nato Chkheidze, he has been a well-known author since the 1990s, focusing largely on 19th-century Georgian culture through novels, literary criticism, and novels. He's served at times as a member of the Academy of Sciences and the Scientific Research Centre of Galaktionology. He is also known for his translating work of several Western literary pieces. In 2020, Rostom Chkheidze joined the State for the People party and was included in the electoral list of the United National Movement (Georgia), United National Movement, winning a seat in Parliament. Parliament Of Georgia
The Parliament of Georgia ( ka, საქართველოს პარლამენტი, tr) is the supreme national legislature of Georgia. It is a unicameral parliament, currently consisting of 150 members; of these, 120 are proportional representatives and 30 are elected through single-member district plurality system, representing their constituencies. According to the 2017 constitutional amendments, the Parliament will transfer to fully proportional representation in 2024. All members of the Parliament are elected for four years on the basis of universal human suffrage.
