Rosto
Rosto (14 February 1969 – 7 March 2019), was a Dutch artist and filmmaker best known for his award-winning short film trilogy and online graphic novel ''Mind My Gap''. Rosto is the founder and owner of Studio Rosto A.D, a film production company, animation studio and atelier in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Early life Born as Robert Stoces, his first shorts ''(the rise and fall of the legendary) Anglobilly Feverson'' (2002) and ''Jona/Tomberry'' (winner of the Grand Prix Canal+ at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival) were screened at many international festivals and brought him worldwide recognition. These short films were part of ''Mind My Gap'', a mixed media project that started with an online graphic novel (now concluded on www.mindmygap.com), and continued with music and print as well as films. 2005 Cannes Film Festival
The 58th Cannes Film Festival started on 11 May and ran until 22 May 2005. Twenty movies from 13 countries were selected to compete. The awards were announced on 21 May. The Palme d'Or went to the Belgium, Belgian film ''L'Enfant (film), L'Enfant'' by Dardenne brothers. Ottawa International Animation Festival
The Ottawa International Animation Festival is an annual animated film and media festival that takes place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The OIAF was founded in 1975, with the first festival held from August 10 to 15 in 1976. Initially organized by the Canadian Film Institute on a biennial basis and with the co-operation of the International Animated Film Association, the Festival organization now remains in the hands of the CFI. It moved from a biennial to an annual festival in 2005. Today the festival is recognized as the largest animation festival in North America, and regularly attracts upwards of 25,000 attendees when it is held each September. Artist
An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art. International Film Festival Rotterdam
The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is an annual film festival held at the end of January in various locations in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Since its foundation in 1972, it has maintained a focus on independent and experimental filmmaking by showcasing emerging talents and established auteurs. Suzie Templeton
Suzanah Clare Templeton (born 1967 in Hampshire, England) is a British animator. Her film ''Peter and the Wolf'' has won several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2008. Early life Raised at Highfield in Southampton, she began work as an animator as a child with her older brother. The two children created special effects for her brother's home films. Having only a slight interest in animation as a child, Suzie graduated with a degree in the sciences from University College London. She spent many years travelling the world and doing odd jobs. However, believing not to be skilled enough in science, she switched to the humanities and began work as an English teacher at an Indian woman's shelter and orphanage in her mid-twenties. The Residents
The Residents are an American art collective and art rock band best known for their avant-garde music and multimedia works. Since their first official release, ''Meet the Residents'' (1974), they have released over 60 albums, numerous music videos and short films, three CD-ROM projects, and ten DVDs. They have undertaken seven major world tours and film score, scored multiple films. Pioneers in exploring the potential of CD-ROM and similar technologies, the Residents have won several awards for their multimedia projects. They founded Ralph Records, a record label focusing on avant-garde music, in 1972.
