Rossio is a station on the Green Line of the Lisbon Metro. The station is located between Figueira Square and Rossio Square from which it takes its name. History The original station was designed by the architect Falcão e Cunha with art installations by the painter Maria Keil. Metropolitano S.A. was a privately owned consortium formed in 1994 to take over concessions granted by the Argentine government as part of railway privatisation during the presidency of Carlos Menem for the operation of commuter rail services in the Buenos Aires Province. Metropolitano operated the San Martín, Roca and Belgrano Sur lines until 2007. Aeroporto is the terminal station on the Red Line of the Lisbon Metro. The station was built to serve Lisbon Airport. The station, designed by the architect Leopoldo de Almeida Rosa, opened on July 17, 2012 in conjunction with the Encarnação and Moscavide stations, as part of the expansion of the line to serve Lisbon Portela Airport. Marquês de Pombal is an interchange station where the Blue and Yellow Lines of the Lisbon Metro connect, being located on Praça Marquês de Pombal. History The Blue Line station is one of the 11 stations that belong to the original Lisbon Metro network, opened on 29 December 1959. The architectural design of the original Blue Line station is by Falcão e Cunha. On 15 July 1995 the Yellow Line station was built, based on the architectural design of José Santa-Rita and João Santa-Rita, and the Blue Line station was extended and refurbished, based on the architectural design of Duarte Nuno Simões and Nuno Simões. Terreiro do Paço station is part of the Blue Line of the Lisbon Metro. History Opened on December 19, 2007, in conjunction with the Santa Apolónia station, and it is located on Praça do Comércio. It takes its name (literally 'Palace Square') from the adjacent Terreiro do Paço square. The architectural design of station is by Artur Rosa.
