Ross Campbell (composer)
Ross Campbell is a Scottish composer and songwriter. He is possibly best known for his score for the short film ''Poor Angels'' which earned him a Best Composer nomination at the 1996 BAFTA Scotland Awards. Life and career Ross Campbell studied composition as the prestigious Royal College of Music in London and further enhanced his studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) in Glasgow. Upon leaving university, Ross pursued a career in commercial music and worked with many bands including Nightcrawlers in which he co-wrote the song "Push the Feeling On" which enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic selling over 750,000 copies in the United States alone. In the mid-1990s, Campbell began working as a composer for film and television. In 1996, he composed the music for the short film ''Poor Angels'' which starred Peter Mullan in the lead role. Ross Campbell (diplomat)
Ross Campbell, OC, DSC (November 4, 1918 – August 15, 2007) was a Canadian lawyer, soldier and diplomat Campbell held diplomatic posts throughout the world including Norway, Denmark, and Turkey, and served as Canada's Ambassador to Yugoslavia, Algeria, Korea, and Japan. Between 1967 and 1972, Campbell served as ambassador to NATO. Upon finishing diplomatic service Campbell was appointed chairman of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited. Education and Second World War Campbell studied Law at the University of Toronto, upon graduation he volunteered for military service. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1940 to 1945. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross by King George VI in 1944 for his work in Motor Torpedo Boats. During his tour of duty Campbell took park in two North African invasions and others in Italy, Greece and Normandy. Campbell ended the war as a lieutenant commander. Ross Campbell (footballer)
Ross Campbell (born 3 July 1987) is a Scottish former professional footballer. Campbell started his career with Scottish Premier League club Hibernian and represented Scotland at the under–20 and under–21 levels. He went on to play for Swedish club Ostersunds FK, Dunfermline Athletic and Dumbarton. Career Campbell was born in Edinburgh and grew up in Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders. He attended Peebles High School before signing for Hibernian. He broke into the ''Hibs'' first team under the management of John Collins and he made his debut on 15 January 2007 in a 2–0 victory against Kilmarnock. Campbell was loaned out for a month to Dunfermline Athletic in September 2008. He returned to Easter Road having scored one goal in three substitute appearances for Dunfermline.
