Roskilde Forsyning
Roskilde Forsyning is a public utility company based in Roskilde, Denmark. It is involved with the supply of drinking water and district heating as well as discharge and treatment of waste water. The current company is the result of a merger in 2000 and is fully owned by Roskilde Municipality. It has approximately 82,000 private and commercial customers. History A municipal waterworks was inaugurated in 1880. On 6 December 1905, it was decided to build a local power station which was completed the following year. A wastewater treatment plant was inaugurated near the port in 1936. On 1 November 1963, the Rådmandshaven housing estate is the first buildings in Toskilde to employ distant heating. Roskilde Forsyning was established through the merger of the activities within electricity, water, district heating in 2000. ''Aktieselskab'' (; Abbreviation, abbr.: A/S, or a/s, Unicode ; literally meaning: "stock company") is the Denmark, Danish name for a stock-based corporation. Avedøre Power Station
The Avedøre Power Station ( da, Avedøreværket) is a combined heat and power station, located in Avedøre, Denmark, just south of Copenhagen, and is owned by Ørsted A/S. Avedøre Power Plant is a high-technology facility and one of the world's most efficient of its kind, being able to utilize as much as 94% of the energy in the fuel and convert 49% of the fuel energy into electricity. Apart from using coal, petroleum (oil) and natural gas, the plant runs on a wide variety of biomass fuels such as straw and wood pellets. The plant consists of two units with a total capacity of 793 MW of electricity and 918 MW of heat. Avedøre
Avedøre is a south-western suburb of Copenhagen located in Hvidovre Municipality. Description The city is mostly made up of concrete blocks and row-housing, but some people residing in Avedøre live in detached single-family houses with gardens. Roskilde ( , ) is a city west of Copenhagen on the Danish island of Zealand. Roskilde municipality ( da, Roskilde kommune) is a municipality in Region Sjælland, 30 km west of Copenhagen on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in east Denmark.
