Rosewater Railway Station
Rosewater railway station was a railway station located in the northwestern Adelaide suburb of Rosewater. The station was right next to the , and was located about 7 km from Dry Creek station on the Dry Creek to Port Adelaide line. History The station opened in 1916, along with the Rosewater Loop. The station consisted merely of a shelter and a 2-metre-long step-down platform. When the Dry Creek to Port Adelaide line closed to passengers on 29 May 1988, Rosewater was one of two stations to operate until the line's closure (the other being Junction Road station), because the stations east of Junction Road station closed in 1987. The platform and shelter were removed shortly after, and there is no evidence of the station left. Rosewater, South Australia
Rosewater is one of the western suburbs of Adelaide and is located 10 km north-west of Adelaide's central business district. Although mainly residential, there are many shops along Grand Junction Road and the closed Rosewater Loop railway line runs through the suburb. Rosewater is split in half by Grand Junction Road and bordered on the east by Addison Road, and on the south by Torrens Road. Originally, the area was mainly used as vegetable and dairy farmland but became more and more residential as the railway lines and Grand Junction Road were completed and as Port Adelaide grew and developed. Railway Station
Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. Dry Creek Railway Station
Dry Creek railway station is located on the Gawler line. Situated in the inner northern Adelaide suburb of Dry Creek, it is from Adelaide station. History First opened in 1856, the station was rebuilt in 1982 and a bogie exchange facility opened when the Adelaide-Crystal Brook line was converted to standard gauge. The exchange closed on 14 October 1996, having been made redundant by the conversion of the Adelaide to Wolseley line to standard gauge. To the west of the station lies the Australian Rail Track Corporation standard gauge line to Crystal Brook. Dry Creek is also where the Dry Creek to Port Adelaide railway line branches off via a triangle junction allowing trains from the north and south to head towards the branch line.
