''Rosenrot'' (, "Rose-Red") is the fifth studio album by German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein, released on 28 October 2005. The album includes six songs artistically omitted from ''Reise, Reise''. The album's first title was ''Reise, Reise Volume Two'', but on 18 August 2005 the album was announced as ''Rosenrot''. The cover art is nearly identical to the Japanese import of ''Reise, Reise''. The image is a slightly altered photograph of the icebreaker USS ''Atka'', taken on 13 March 1960 at McMurdo Station, Ross Ice Shelf, Antarctica. While Rammstein did not actively promote the album, the band built anticipation through a variety of means. The first single from the album, "Benzin", premiered at the Berliner Wuhlheide and was subsequently released on disc. Rammstein's official website featured one-minute samples from six of the tracks, and had featured a prominent release-date countdown. Rosenrot (song)
"Rosenrot" (German for "Rose-red") is a song by German industrial metal band Rammstein. It was released on 16 December 2005, as the second single from the band's album of the same name. The song was highly anticipated by fans of Rammstein, as it was first hailed in February 2004 to be the first single from the band's fourth studio album, ''Reise, Reise'' (the song "Mein Teil" took the honour instead). Content The lyrics tell of a man who is asked by his lover to retrieve a rose from a mountain, and falls to his death. The lyrics contain elements from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's poem "Heidenröslein" (while his poem " Erlkönig" similarly inspired the ''Reise, Reise'' track, "Dalai Lama"), and the story " Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot," from the Brothers Grimm. Rammstein
Rammstein (, "ramming stone") is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band formed in Berlin in 1994. The band's lineup—consisting of lead vocalist Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz—has remained unchanged throughout their history, along with their approach to songwriting, which consists of Lindemann writing and singing the lyrics over instrumental pieces the rest of the band has completed beforehand. Prior to their formation, some members were associated with the punk rock acts Feeling B and First Arsch. After winning a local contest, Rammstein was able to record demos and send them to different record labels, eventually signing with Motor Music. ''Reise, Reise'' (; a German '' military wake-up call'', literally "(a)rise, (a)rise") is the fourth studio album by Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein. It was released on 27 September 2004 through Universal Music in Germany and followed shortly by its release across Europe. It was later released in North America through Republic Records on 16 November 2004. Recorded in a span of two years at El Cortijo Studios in Málaga, Spain, the album was produced by the band themselves along with Swedish record producer Jacob Hellner. The album charted in the top ten in several European charts and was a number one hit in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Iceland, Finland, Estonia and Mexico. Benzin
"Benzin" (German, in English: Gasoline or Petrol) is a song by German industrial metal band Rammstein, released as the first single from their album ''Rosenrot''. In Germany, gasoline is called ''Benzin'' (which is derived from the chemical mixture benzine). The song uses the word "Gasolin", however the word does not exist in the German language, but it is an English word made German. There was, however, a German chain of gas stations called "Gasolin." Benzin was Rammstein's first number one single, getting to number one in Finland after its release in 2005. Music video In the video, Rammstein are firefighters. They have not had a call for a long time, and are thus very ill-equipped for dealing with an emergency. It was released on 17 November 2006 in Europe, 19 December 2006 in Canada and on 18 September 2007 in the US. The album was advertised within media by the "Ich will" live video featured on the DVD and " Mann gegen Mann" single. The standard edition-packaging comes in both CD-sized and DVD-sized formats.
