George Rosenkranz
George Rosenkranz (born György Rosenkranz; 20 August 1916 – 23 June 2019) was a pioneering Mexican scientist in the field of steroid chemistry, who used native Mexican plant sources as raw materials. He was born in Hungary, studied in Switzerland and emigrated to the Americas to escape the Nazis, eventually settling in Mexico. Nicholas Quinn Rosenkranz (born November 28, 1970) is an American constitutional law scholar, professor, and Broadway producer. Barbara Rosenkranz (née ''Schörghofer''; born 20 June 1958 in Salzburg) is an Austrian politician for the Free List Austria. She was a member of the Parliament of Austria, the National Council of Austria, National Council, from 2002 to 2008, where she served as Chair of the Committee for Health Affairs. Robert Rosenkranz (born August 5, 1942) is an American philanthropist and the chairman of Delphi Capital Management, an investment concern with over $35 billion in assets under management, and the founder of a group of investment and private equity partnerships. Rosenkranz Double
The Rosenkranz double and Rosenkranz redouble are elements of a bridge bidding convention invented by Dr. George Rosenkranz, collectively known as the Rosenkranz double. It is a made by the (partner of the ) in an auction where opener, overcaller and responder have all bid different suits. It is used to describe the advancer's top honor card holdings in the overcaller's suit. Original version The conventions come into play when the auction has started with: (a) an opening bid by the opponents; (b) a direct overcall by partner at the one-level; and (c) a bid or negative double (that is, not a Pass) by the opener's partner, responder. Two cases follow: (1) if responder bids below two of opener's suit, Double by advancer is a raise of the overcall and promises a top honor; (2) if responder doubles, Redouble by advancer has the same meaning. Johann Karl Friedrich Rosenkranz (April 23, 1805 – July 14, 1879) was a German philosopher and pedagogue. Life Born in Magdeburg, he read philosophy at Berlin, Halle and Königsberg, devoting himself mainly to the doctrines of Hegel and Schleiermacher. After holding the chair of philosophy at Halle for two years, he became, in 1833, professor at the University of Königsberg. In his last years he was blind. He died in Königsberg. Philosophy Throughout his long professorial career, and in all his numerous publications he remained, in spite of occasional deviations on particular points, loyal to the Hegelian tradition as a whole. The Rosary (; la, , in the sense of "crown of roses" or "garland of roses"), also known as the Dominican Rosary, or simply the Rosary, refers to a set of prayers used primarily in the Catholic Church, and to the physical string of knots or beads used to count the component prayers.
