''Rosemary Barton Live'' is a Canadian television Sunday morning talk show, which premiered November 1, 2020 on CBC News Network and CBC Television. Hosted by Rosemary Barton, it is a live news and talk show covering political topics. The series is a replacement for ''The Weekly with Wendy Mesley'' and also is a successor to ''The Sunday Scrum'', a Sunday political segment which aired on CBC News Network in the 2000s and 2010s. ''The Sunday Scrum'' was hosted by a variety of CBC journalists over the course of its run, including Nancy Wilson, Ben Chin, Carole MacNeil, Reshmi Nair, Asha Tomlinson and John Northcott, and continues to air as a segment within ''Rosemary Barton Live'' rather than a standalone program. Rosemary Barton
Rosemary Barton (born May 31, 1976) is a Canadian political journalist, currently serving as the chief political correspondent for CBC. In this role, she anchors her own Sunday morning news show, '' Rosemary Barton Live'', hosted the "At Issue" segment on The National, and leads special coverage for the network including during elections, breaking news and national emergencies. Barton anchored CBC's election coverage during the 2019 and 2021 Canadian federal elections, following the retirement of Peter Mansbridge, including one-on-one interviews with the federal party leaders. Ben Chin
Benjamin Byung Kyu Chin (born 1964), known for short as Ben Chin, is a Canadian political advisor and former public and private sector executive. He had an earlier career as a television journalist. Personal life and education Chin was born in Geneva, Switzerland. He first came to Canada as a child from 1970 to 1974, when his father served as the South Korean Ambassador to Canada in Ottawa. After his father fell out of political favour with the South Korean government, Chin was sent to Toronto on his own to continue his education and attend junior high school. Carole MacNeil is a Canadian television journalist, known for her work with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation which spanned over thirty years. MacNeil began her career anchoring local news programs in New Brunswick and Ontario in the early 1990s, before joining CBC Newsworld in 1998. Nancy Wilson (born c. 1955) is a Canadian television journalist. She was an anchor for CBC News Now before her retirement. She joined CBC Newsworld in 1991 as the host of ''This Country''.
