Rosanna Crawford
Rosanna Crawford (born 23 May 1988) is a Canadian biathlete. Career Crawford competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver in the women's sprint (7.5 km) and individual (15 km) competitions. She placed 72nd in the sprint on 13 February 2010 with a time of 23:04.6 and no penalties resulting in a +3:09.0 deficit. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi she was part of the women's relay team which finished eighth, Canada's best ever finish in this Olympic event. Crawford was named as Biathlon Canada's Female Athlete of the Year for the 2012-13 season. 2018 Winter Olympics In January 2018, Crawford was named to Canada's 2018 Olympic team where she finished 53rd in the women's sprint. Personal She was part of a group of five athletes who posed for the Bold Beautiful Biathlon calendar. Canmore is a town in Alberta, Canada, located approximately west of Calgary near the southeast boundary of Banff National Park. It is located in the Bow Valley within Alberta's Rocky Mountains. Biathlon World Championships 2019
The Biathlon World Championships 2019 took place in Östersund, Sweden, from 6 to 17 March 2019. There were a total of 12 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, and relay races for men and women, and two mixed relay races. The single mixed relay was on the program of the World Championships for the first time. All the events during this championships also counted for the 2018–19 Biathlon World Cup season. Host selection On 7 September 2014, Östersund won the voting (27 votes) in St. Wolfgang, Austria over Antholz, Italy (16 votes), Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic (4 votes) and Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia (2 votes). The International Biathlon Union (IBU; german: Internationale Biathlon-Union) is the international governing body of biathlon. Its headquarters were in Salzburg, Austria, until May 2020, when the Federation moved to Anif, on the outskirts of the city. The 2006 Winter Olympics, officially the XX Olympic Winter Games ( it, XX Giochi olimpici invernali) and also known as Torino 2006, were a winter multi-sport event held from 10 to 26 February 2006 in Turin, Italy. This marked the second time Italy had hosted the Winter Olympics, the first being in 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo; Italy had also hosted the Summer Olympics in 1960 in Rome. Turin was selected as the host city for the 2006 Games in June 1999. The official motto of Torino 2006 was "Passion lives here". Chandra Crawford (born November 19, 1983) is a Canadian cross-country skier who has competed since 2001 at the age of 16. Prior to this, she was a biathlete for five years. She was born in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. Career On February 22, 2006, she became the surprise gold medal winner in the women's cross-country sprint at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Video of her circulated on the Internet as she sang "O Canada", the Canadian national anthem, from the medals podium.
