Rosalía León Oviedo (born July 14, 1974) is a Mexican actress, singer, songwriter and guitarist. She participated in the Mexican musical reality show '' La Academia''. She released her first album through Sony Music in 2003 selling over 50,000 copies in the first four weeks. Early life Rosalía León Oviedo was born in Mexico City on July 14, 1974. She is the founder and leader of the guitar project “Gliese 229”, through which she revisits traditional Mexican songs by singing alongside an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar. She also composes. She studied singing, guitar and guitar crafting, as well as pan flute and crystal flute. She studied techniques of South American rhythmic guitar with Ciro Hurtado and Ruben Izquierdo; music composition with Daniel Barjau; and luthiery at the Liceo Paracho Johrengua in Mexico City. La Academia
''La Academia'' (''The Academy'') is a Mexican reality musical talent television series shown on Azteca, that premiered in June 2002 and is currently in its thirteenth installment. Although the show itself is not affiliated with the Endemol franchise, which includes the "Star Academy" shows, it does share the competition format of many of the variants of the global franchise. Over the first seasons, the show was a reliable dominator of its time-slot, which was shown by its triumph over Televisa's ''Operación Triunfo Mexico'', in several countries including Chile, Peru and Venezuela. Susana Harp Iturribarria (born April 8, 1968) is a Mexican singer of traditional music. She currently serves as a senator in the LXIV Legislature of the Mexican Congress, representing the state of Oaxaca. Mike Stern (born January 10, 1953) is an American jazz guitarist. After playing with Blood, Sweat & Tears, he worked with drummer Billy Cobham, then with trumpeter Miles Davis from 1981 to 1983 and again in 1985. He then began a solo career, releasing more than a dozen albums. Stern was named Best Jazz Guitarist of 1993 by ''Guitar Player'' magazine.
