Rosaline
Rosaline () is a fictional character mentioned in William Shakespeare's tragedy ''Romeo and Juliet''. She is the niece of Lord Capulet. Although an unseen character, her role is important: Romeo's unrequited love for Rosaline leads him to try to catch a glimpse of her at a gathering hosted by the Capulet family, during which he first spots her cousin, Juliet. Scholars generally compare Romeo's short-lived love of Rosaline with his later love of Juliet. The poetry Shakespeare writes for Rosaline is much weaker than that for Juliet. Scholars believe Romeo's early experience with Rosaline prepares him for his relationship with Juliet. Rosaline (pronounced "Rah-za-lynn") was a six-piece post-hardcore band from Chicago, Illinois that formed in 2005. The group modeled their sound from early 2000s post-hardcore groups, citing influences from Thursday, Underoath, Hopesfall, Taking Back Sunday and The Bled. Over the span of their career Rosaline released three albums on various independent record labels. ''Love's Labour's Lost'' is one of William Shakespeare's early comedies, believed to have been written in the mid-1590s for a performance at the Inns of Court before Elizabeth I of England, Queen Elizabeth I. It follows the King of Navarre and his three companions as they attempt to swear off the company of women for three years in order to focus on study and fasting. Their subsequent infatuation with the Princess of France and her ladies makes them forsworn (break their oath). In an untraditional ending for a comedy, the play closes with the death of the Princess's father, and all weddings are delayed for a year. The play draws on themes of masculine love and desire, reckoning and rationalisation, and reality versus fantasy. Rosaline Patricia Irorefe Bozimo (born 1 January 1946) is a Nigerian lawyer who was appointed Chief Justice of Delta State with effect from 23 March 2003. She retired on 1 January 2011 and was succeeded by Honorable Justice Abiodun Smith. During the tenure of Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), she served as the Administrator, National Judicial Institute (NJI). Rosaline Elbay ( ar, روزالين البيه; ) is an Egyptian stage and screen actress, producer and writer. She is known for her roles as Judy Goodwin on the Netflix series ''Kaleidoscope,'' Amani on the Hulu/A24 Films series ''Ramy'', and Sara on the MBC Masr series ''Qabeel''. Rosaline Margaret Frank (21 December 1864 – 6 October 1954), known as Rose Frank, was a New Zealand photographer. She was born in Nelson, New Zealand, on 21 December 1864. When she was 21, she started working as an assistant to the Tyree brothers at their photographic studio in Trafalgar Street. William Tyree was specialised in studio portraits and recording civic occasions in Nelson. His younger brother, Fred, took scenic views. Rosaline Masson (1867–1949) was a Scottish author and a prolific writer of novels, biographies, histories and other works. Life Rosaline Masson was born on 6 May 1867 in Edinburgh and was the daughter of suffrage campaigner Emily Rosaline Orme and David Masson, Professor of Rhetoric and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. She was one of four siblings, a brother David (1858–1937), and two sisters Flora, later a nurse and suffragist, and Helen. She sometimes called herself 'Rosaline Orme Masson' perhaps in imitation of her brother, David Orme Masson, however her middle name is not listed on her birth or death certificates. An active community campaigner throughout her life, in 1919 she became one of the first women to join the ruling Council of the influential conservationist body the Cockburn Association.
