Rosa Leveroni
Rosa Leveroni i Valls (1910–1985) was a Catalan poet and narrator. Born in Barcelona, she was influenced by the poet Carles Riba. Her work is published in ''Poesia'' (1981) and ''Contes'' (1981). She also wrote essays and literary criticism. She spent time revitalising Catalan language and culture in the post World War II years. She was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi in 1982. She was one of the first members of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana. Catalan People
Catalans (Catalan, French and Occitan: ''catalans''; es, catalanes, Italian: ''catalani'', sc, cadelanos) are a Romance ethnic group native to Catalonia, who speak Catalan. The current official category of "Catalans" is that of the citizens of Catalonia, an autonomous community in Spain and the inhabitants of the Roussillon historical region in southern France, today the Pyrénées Orientales department, also called Northern Catalonia and ''Pays Catalan'' in French. Some authors also extend the word "Catalans" to include all people from areas in which Catalan is spoken, namely those from Andorra, Valencia, the Balearic islands, eastern Aragon, Roussillon, and the city of Alghero in Sardinia. Carles Riba
Carles Riba i Bracons (; 23 September 1893 - 12 July 1959) was a Catalan poet, writer and translator of Spanish nationality. He was born in Barcelona and studied Law and Philosophy at the University of Barcelona, Universitat de Barcelona. In 1916 he married the poet Clementina Arderiu. He worked for a time in the School of Librarianship. In 1922 he travelled to Munich to study under Karl Vossler. He completed his classical education by travelling to Italy and Greece in the 1920s. Around this time he collaborated with Pompeu Fabra on the General Dictionary of the Catalan Language (''Diccionari General de la Llengua Catalana''). Later he worked in the Bernat Metge Foundation (''Fundació Bernat Metge''), specializing in classical studies, and became lecturer in Greek at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1934. Cadaqués
Cadaqués () is a town in the Alt Empordà ''comarca'', in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is on a bay in the middle of the Cap de Creus peninsula, near Cap de Creus cape, on the Costa Brava of the Mediterranean. It is two-and-a-quarter-hour drive from Barcelona, and thus it is accessible not only to tourists but also to people who want a second home for weekends and summers. In 2002, Cadaqués had an official population of 2,612, but up to ten times as many people can live in the town during the peak of the summer tourism season. Cadaqués has a special place in art history. Commanding charcoals, by local artist Eliseu Meifrèn, of the 19th century Cadaqués beleaguered by a winter tramontane, can be seen at the Cadaqués museum.
