Rosa Damasceno
''Rosa Damasceno'' (18451904) was a 19th-century Portuguese actor. Early life Rosa Angélica Damasceno Rosado Brazão, was born on 23 February 1845 in the parish of São Pedro da Cova in the north of Portugal. She was the daughter of Francisco de Paula Damasceno Rosado, a military man from Porto and his second wife, Maria da Conceição de Macedo, who had been born in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. After her father's early death, she went with her mother to the southerly Alentejo region, where she joined a travelling company as an actress. Together with this company she performed at several provincial theatres, until Marcolino Pinto Ribeiro, a former actor at the D. Maria II National Theatre, seeing her perform, advised her and her mother to go to Lisbon. Alfred Capus (25 November 18581 November 1922) was a French journalist and playwright, who was born in Aix-en-Provence and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Biography Son of a lawyer from Marseille, Alfred Capus went to university in Toulon. After failing several entrance tests for higher-education schools and working as a draughtsman for a while, he went on to become a journalist. Jesuína Saraiva (1865–1947) was a popular Portuguese actress and wife of the famous actor :pt: Chaby Pinheiro, Chaby Pinheiro. Early life Jesuína Pereira de Oliveira Saraiva de Chaby Pinheiro, who also used the name Jesuína de Chaby, was born in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon on 11 November 1865.
