Roberto Gavaldón (June 7, 1909 in Jiménez, Chihuahua – September 4, 1986 in Mexico City) was a Mexican film director. Eight of Gavaldón's films were featured on the list 100 Best Movies of the Cinema of Mexico. His 1958 film ''Ash Wednesday'' was entered into the 8th Berlin International Film Festival and his 1959 film ''Beyond All Limits'' was entered into the following years festival. Emilio Carballido
Emilio Carballido (Córdoba, Veracruz, 22 May 1925 – Xalapa, Veracruz, 11 February 2008) was a Mexican writer who earned particular renown as a playwright. Carballido belonged to the group of writers known as the ''Generación de los 50'', alongside such figures as Sergio Magaña, Luisa Josefina Hernández, Rosario Castellanos, Jaime Sabines, and Sergio Galindo. He studied English literature and earned a master's degree in literature from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). As a playwright his first work was ''Rosalba y los Llaveros,'' which premiered at Palacio de Bellas Artes in 1950, directed by well-known poet and stage director Salvador Novo. Ignacio López Tarso
Ignacio López López (born 15 January 1925), known professionally as Ignacio López Tarso, is a Mexican actor of stage, film and television. He has acted in about 50 films and appeared in documentaries and in one short feature. In 1973 he was given the Ariel Award for Best Actor for ''Rosa Blanca'', and the Ariel de Oro lifetime achievement award in 2007. He has also been honored multiple times at the TVyNovelas Awards. Biography Early life and education López was born in Mexico City to parents Alfonso López Bermúdez and Ignacia López Herrera. Gabriel Figueroa
Gabriel Figueroa Mateos (April 24, 1907 – April 27, 1997) was a Mexican cinematographer who is regarded as one of the greatest cinematographers of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. He has worked in over 200 films, which cover a broad range of genres, and is best known for his technical dominance, his careful handling of framing and chiaroscuro, and affinity for the aesthetics of artists. Early life and career Born in 1907, Figueroa grew up in Mexico City, where he studied painting at the Academy of San Carlos, and violin at the National Conservatory.
