Rory Smith (lacrosse Player)
Rory Smith (born February 1, 1987) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Vancouver Stealth of the National Lacrosse League and the Victoria Shamrocks of Western Lacrosse Association. Smith is known as an enforcer, and has racked up over 1,000 career penalty minutes during his amateur and professional career. His 104 penalty minutes with Orlando in 2010 is the record for most penalty minutes in a single season in NLL history. Smith began his amateur career with the Jr. B Mimico Mountaineers, and was named league MVP in 2006. He played for the Jr. A Brampton Excelsiors from 2007-08. He made his Sr. A debut in 2009 with the New Westminster Salmonbellies of the Western Lacrosse Association, and helped them to two Mann Cup appearances in 2009 and 2010. Vancouver Stealth
The Vancouver Warriors are a professional box lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League. The team moved from Everett, Washington, for the 2014 NLL season. History The Warriors are based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and play at Rogers Arena, home of the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL. From the 2014 season to the 2017–18 season the Warriors (then known as the Stealth) played at the Langley Events Centre (LEC) in the Vancouver suburb of Langley, British Columbia. Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League
The Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League (OJBLL) is a box lacrosse league sanctioned by the Ontario Lacrosse Association in Canada. The league features twenty-five teams in Ontario, one in Quebec, and one in the Akwesasne (which straddles the two aforementioned provinces and New York) that annually play a 20-game schedule and four rounds of playoffs for the J. A. MacDonald Trophy. After the conclusion of the playoffs, a league champion represents the OJBLL at the Founders Cup National Junior B Championship. Junior hockey leagues in the United States and Canada are considered amateur (with some exceptions) and operate within regions of each country. Mimico
Mimico is a neighbourhood (and a former municipality) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, being located in the south-west area of Toronto on Lake Ontario. It is in the south-east corner of the former Township (and later, City) of Etobicoke, and was an independent municipality from 1911 to 1967. Nick Weiss (born August 16, 1992) is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Port Hope, Ontario, Weiss began his career with the Peterborough Junior Lakers of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League, with whom he played from 2010 to 2013, before being called up to the MSL Lakers in 2014. Weiss was drafted in the second round of the 2013 NLL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Stealth, and played in fifteen games in his rookie year. Sean Pollock (born July 7, 1982 in Wallaceburg, Ontario Canada) is a retired lacrosse player. Pollock played 12 seasons in the National Lacrosse League, much of it with the Minnesota Swarm. Professional career Sean Pollock was drafted in the 2002 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft by the Columbus Landsharks (Later the Arizona Sting), 40th overall in the 4th round. Jonathan Harold Sullivan (10 November 1950 – 17 January 2021) was an Australian politician who served as a member of the Australian House of Representatives from 2007 to 2010, representing the seat of Longman for the Australian Labor Party. He had also previously served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 1989 to 1998, representing the seat of Glass House from 1989 to 1992, and Caboolture from 1992 to 1998. The Mann Cup is the trophy awarded to the senior men's box lacrosse champions of Canada. The championship is a best-of-seven, East vs West series played between the league champions of Major Series Lacrosse, the East, and Western Lacrosse Association, the West. The original trophy is now permanently located in the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
